While it's a small challenge for my 5 year old, he is able to get it. Sometimes the pieces to pop off, but they ar easy to pop back on. I'd rather them be able to pop off otherwise my 5 year old would have broken his toy beyond repair by now. This little truck and trailer is a good step from the little kid transformers to somthing they actually have to transform. Great toy.
