This was my first DOTM figure and I was very skeptical about them due to these apparently being much smaller than previous movie toys. Fortunately, deluxes don't suffer as much from this as much as voyagers. I've got to say that I was very impressed with this Bumblebee. His vehicle and robot modes are both great (however there is a bit of kibble on his back), and the transformation is simple enough. One of the new features of this toy line are the Mechtech weapons. This toy comes with a pretty cool gun that I think would better suit Optimus Prime. It attaches to either arm in robot mode, the roof in vehicle mode, or you can convert into "Stealth Force" mode by lifting up the very back and very front of the top of car mode to reveal two sculpted missle launchers and two hidden Mechtech ports (warning: if you put to much preasure putting in the Mechtech guns in these two ports, they may crack) I really don't like the gun on the roof, so I normally just leave it off in vehicle mode. Also, if you own the original movie Bumblebee that transforms into the 70's Camaro, than you can use the two pistols from that as Mechtech guns that look really nice on this figure. Overall, this is a great DOTM figure and I'm looking forward to the future of this line and the movie itself.

One of the best of the new generation of transformers, January 29, 2012
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers: Dark of the Moon - MechTech Deluxe - Bumblebee (Toy)
My son really wanted this one and I was hesitant. I don't generally like the new generation of transformers. They are exceedingly complex and very fragile. I grew up with G1s (and the lack of rubber wheels on these toys still bugs me). However, this Bumblebee is one of my favorites of the new series. I haven't been keeping up with all the 'classes' of transformer toys. I know we have one of the earlier Ironhides that is super-hard to transform and is very fragile and the robot mode doesn't look all that good anyway. But the mechtech Bumblebee is easy enough for a 5-year-old to transform him. Both the car and robot modes look good, are tightly fitted (no loose or jiggly parts and no gaps), and the articulation is excellent. Besides that, this is the only modern transformer toy that I haven't had to do emergency repairs on with a limb coming off. Very sturdy. I don't think it's quite as good as my G1 Skyfire and I just like the looks of the Tomahawk better, but that's the only reason it's my 3rd favorite.

Bumblebee is awesome!I know some people are gonna judge this version of Bumblebee more sceptical because of looks, but the DOTM version is a great all around transformer. If you skip on this version because you judge it on looks then you are gonna miss out on a sweet transformer that is perfect for all ages.Bumblebee has great detail in camaro mode with the racing stripes and spoiler addition. In robot mode Bee has great articulation in the legs, arms, body, and head piece. This version also features some cool new weaponary with the Mech Tech arsenal.Bumblebee includes a Blaster that converts to a Plasma Cannon which attaches to the arm in robot mode and to the roof in camaro mode. The poseability is outstanding with great stability for creating cool battle scenes or poses for when you want to display the autobot hero. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid build in either camaro or robot mode. The transformation level is intermediate meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is a mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you might have to help some in the process.Honestly Bumblebee is very versatile for all ages with a managable transformation. To start the process lift up the top part of the entire vehicle. The rear piece with the spoiler rotates forward as the rest of the piece rotates straight up.The hood piece will then fold inwards as the headlight pieces pull out then rotate up.The front wheels rotate out while the doors do the same. The arms flip out then rotate around as the piece below the front fender flips up.The front section of the camaro then rotates down to reveal the head piece and connect the upper and lower torso. The rear front wheelrim pieces rotate up as the legs rotate down. The arms rotate once more with the hands flipping out as the wheelrim pieces rest on the leg.The rear section of the camaro then seperates as the top section of the vehicle folds in to rest on Bumblebee's back. The feet then rotate out for the final step.Bumblebee is now ready for battle!Bumblebee DOTM is a high quality,well-made,10 out of 10 transformer all fans will enjoy.I highly recommend Bumblebee to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Bumblebee Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!
