Hot Shot is much better than the armada version. IMO he/it is a good deal for his size. he can combine w/ inferno forming an even more posable robot. hot shot has a wonderful car mode in his trademark yellow color. 3.0 out of 5 stars Arnel's feedback regarding TF Energon Hotshot
The item I received was NOT the item pictured in the description. I was very dissappointed, to say the least. I mean, I paid for the item and all, but it was not what I wanted.

Hot Shot is much better than the armada version. IMO he/it is a good deal for his size. he can combine w/ inferno forming an even more posable robot. hot shot has a wonderful car mode in his trademark yellow color. I compared him with my armada version and decided that t was a stupid idea to even want the armada one. I have G1 tracks and thought that there was some resemblance but not enough to say it pays tribute to it. I dont think robot mode is articulate enough but as my first enegon I didnt know what to expect.
in short he is by far the best energon i own.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really cool Transformer Toy, February 20, 2004

I got this toy for my birthday a little while ago, and I think it's met my expectations for a transformers toy, probably even passed them. I like his vehicle mode, which resembles something you might find on a James Bond movie. He has good articulation in his legs (which are his arms when he combines with Inferno), and his arms are still good but not as articulated as the legs. He has a simple transformation. His accessories are cool too, coming with a gun with a firing missile that shoots a little less than a yard and also a strange sort of cutting tool. Overall, Hot-Shot is a really great transformer, and worth the money to add to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Energon Hot Shot, October 2, 2004

Hot shot is an awesome toy. He is probably my favorite energon deluxe sized autobot. His car mode is really cool and fast looking. His robot mode awesome in a simple way. The back of his car mode becomes his legs. The hood of his car mode folds down on his back. In all, I think his robot mode comes together awesomely.
Hot Shot can Powerlinx with other deluxe autobots. As the bottom, he's pretty simple and I think he could use a little work. But as the top, he looks great.
Hot Shot's a great toy, although his arms tend to get a little loose over time. But this isn't any real drawback if you take care of him.
I hope this review was helpful.

As always hasbro brings out another transformers line transformers energon. Though i do say hot shot looks kinda ugly in my opinion. He is much worth it when you combine him with inferno looks cool! I guess that's where the value is being able to combine 2 transformers into one to make a totally new transformer. I prefer hot shot in car mode nice and sleek. Durability is great and as always hasbro has added if you bend it to much it will break rule, but you can snap it back in place lol. So for little kids and adults alike this toy would be a great addition to any collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Energon Hotshot's Review, March 8, 2004
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

This toy is a lot of fun when you have the inferno transformer with it, but without it, it's a lot less fun. I rated the education vlue a 1 because all it's really teaching is how to move things around. This toy isn't that durable, I was transforming it when i ACCEDENTALLY broke his arm. I will regret thet day because ever since, the arm isn't as strong as it was before. It keeps moving the hand down when it's up and nothing is in it. All-in-all, I give it a 3.85. Have fun playing with it, but don't get disapointed when something brakes, as it will never work the same.

Well, I never purchased the Armada Hot Shot, but he looked a little worse than this guy. A plus form this HS is his front windows: you can see through them, just like you could with a lot of the RID ones. Unfortunately he has no side windows, but there is a realon for that. This guy's plusses are as follows: He can combine with Inferno (Fire Truck-available now, here), Prowl (police car, I think, available if you know where to look), and Rodimus (Semi cab, same as Prowl), as well as other deluxe-sized releases in the future. He doesn't combine with Ironhidee or Jetfire, though, they are too big, and only jcombine with each other. At any rate, he can combine with any of the above-mentioned dudes to form either Powerlinx Hot Shot (if he forms the upper body, arms, and head), or Powerlinx Respective Transformer,(if he is the legs and one of the others is the head, etc.). As you can see, this gives you several combinations, so he is worth the money. His transformation will probably keep you guessing until you read the instructions, so that is a major plus. I hate the ones where you can tell how it transforms just by looking at both pictures of it. If they had transformations more like the Beast Wars or Robots in Disguise toys, I would be happier. Still, he is a must-have for any true TransFan, because the collectors get all the toys (or at least most of them)

Hot Shot is a bit of a personal fave. He reminds me greatly of when I was younger and would play with my older cousins' Transformers. Hot Shot is pretty durable and somewhat poseable. As far as his Powerlinx combos go, I didn't really care for either of them, but then again I was more interested in the figure itself, not the Powerlinx combos. Overall, he's a good buy for your collection or child.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, October 13, 2004

This is a good Transformers. The robot mode looks good, with very little kibble to get in the way. The car mode looks good. As the legs of a Powerlinx, he is so-so. He makes a decent top part of a Powerlinx. However, while is good, there is nothing that makes him stand out in any way. Nothing bad, not excellent, just a solid member of an collection.

THANK YOU HASBRO. It's AUTOBOTS like ENERGON HOT SHOT that keep me collecting TRANSFORMERS. This is what AUTOBOTS are supposed to look like(realistic vehicles.) HOT SHOT looks outstanding in vehicle mode. The contour lines of this sports car are very good. Yellow is the absolute best color for this AUTOBOT. The missele launcher fits HOT SHOT well. This TRANSFORMER, in robot mode, looks very similar to how he appears in the ENERGON cartoon. All in all, HOT SHOT is as solid of an action figure as he is an AUTOBOT.
P.S. The collector card(with the 'power grid' on the back) is an excellent idea.
