Transformers Energon - The Comic,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Transformers: Energon Volume 1 (Transformers (Idw)) (v. 1) (Paperback)
Transformers Energon, by Dreamwave Comics, written by Simon Furman. This comic is based on the Energon cartoon, both being sequels to the Armada comic and cartoon. The comics are very different form their cartoon source material, being based only in premise and designs. This is good, as both of those cartoons were horrible. Furman and Chris Sarracini did a great job with #1-18 of Armada, which was re-named Energon at #19, which then ran until #30 before Dreamwave went bankrupt. The Armada/Energon comics are more of a kid-friendly take on TF than the other comics at that time: "War Within" and Dreamwave's G1 reboot. If you have a kid who likes the new movies, get them this book, along with the "Transformers Armada Omnibus." If you're an adult fan, these books ain't half bad. This "Volume 1" was in fact the only volume ever re-printed, containing issues 19-23. |
