Product Description

Product Description

Sandstorm lives for action. His only real fear is boredom. As a result he takes unnecessary risks, both in combat and out – risks that can sometimes threaten the success of his mission. He lives fast, loud and dangerously. While his traits that make him fun to hang out with most of the time, his fellow Autobots are getting a little sick of his habit of giving away his position to the Decepticons just so he has the opportunity to enjoy a fight. Get a triple changer for your Transformers adventures with this 3-in-1 Sandstorm figure! This Autobot warrior figure converts from dangerous robot mode to VTOL aircraft mode, where he can launch his assaults from above on his Decepticon enemies. But when the battle calls for it, he can change to dune buggy mode! He's a 3-way menace, so keep converting him from one mode to another so he can handle whatever his enemies dish out! Transformers and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

From the Manufacturer

Autobot Springer was built to be a tough guy. Everything about him, from his nickel-plated blaster cannon to his bad-boy attitude, is calculated to communicate exactly what he wants it to – that he's a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners kind of guy. He prefers to fight alone, trusting his skills and luck to get him out of tight spots rather than relying on his fellow warriors. After all, other Autobots fail, but Autobot Springer never does. Gear up for triple Transformers action with this awesome 3-in-1 Autobot Springer figure! This tough-guy Autobot can launch a fierce missile attack at his Decepticon enemies in robot mode, but if the mission calls for bigger muscle, he can convert to armored car mode. Convert him to helicopter mode just when his Decepticon enemies think they've got him cornered! Keep converting him in 3 different ways so his enemies can't keep up! Transformers and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

Made from high quality plastics it has nice solid joints.

In robot mold it did have some balance issues because of the large backpack component, but I was able to easily find a good pose that allowed it to stand well.

Usually I don't like getting Transformers that are a retool or repaint of another, especially if I already have the original character in that mold, but Sandstorm is certainly an exception to that rule. In fact, he is such an excessive retool of Springer that, at first glance, you would think it is a completely new mold.
Even better, however, is that as good as Springer is as a figure, Hasbro took all that is good with Springer, and made a figure that is even better with Sandstorm. Definately amust have for collectors of the Generations line.

Sandstorm is being packed in mixed case lots with other transformers for the 30 yr anv. They will be at Wal Marts and Targets soon. Don't spend 41.00 on a 21.00 toy.

Don't buy from scalpers. Make em starve.

Firstly, I am a Generation One cartoon fan, not a comic book reader. That said, I only know the character of Sandstorm based on the original cartoon portrayal. I decided to watch the key episodes featuring Sandstorm because of this figure, and I am impressed with the new mold and interpretation Hasbro has come up with. I am further impressed with how different this figure is from Springer, Sandstorm's mold mate. Sandstorm is truly his own character. With some heavy retooling and new paint scheme, Hasbro has once again pulled off the perfect triple changer. As I mentioned in my Springer review, figuring out what Sandstorm transforms into based on his robot mode is not so simple. The big wheels on the back scream car of some sort, but the surprise is his new VTOL aircraft mode. I approve of Hasbro's decision to alter Sandstorm from dune buggy to helicopter to armored dune buggy to VTOL aircraft. This is a nice update that fits the voyager class size of the figure and technological age we live in. I have transformed Sandstorm from mode to mode to mode without issue. Like with Springer, I have a minor gripe with the side windows in armored dune buggy mode not tabbing into place, but there is a piece of armor that covers the top and outside of the windows making this issue less noticeable and forgettable over time. My only other issue is the weapon. I noticed in images from the comics that Sandstorm uses a Gatling-gun. Instead of the friction missile mechanism, I wish Hasbro would have designed to gun to have a spinning barrel. I think that gimmick would have fit the figure better, rather than the usual projectile weapon. Finally, as with Springer, be careful when transforming the shoulders so as not to break the tabs that lock into the chest and the tabs that lock the arms into place. If there is one area of concern with the figure, that is it.

well i just got my sandstorm figured from big bad toystore and he is better than the generation springer for a remold they fixed all the issues that the some people had with the springer mold but i would still recommend this toy for collectors and it well worth the 25.99 price tag plus shipping but any g1 transformer fan will love this.

Sandstorm is awesome, his transformations are great and suprisingly different from his mold originator Springer. The only issue I have is he's a bit top heavy but its minor, nothing that can't be dealt with. Excellent figure but don't over pay

This toy is arguably the finest & most prounounced example of creative thinking in toys in about 20 years. Great concept, and convincing in detail. A vertical take-off & land craft coupled with a dune buggy. Brilliant idea. This is the kind of design that will compel kids & collectors alike to ever higher levels of accomplishment in terms of new & innovative thinking. Were it that such creativity ingenuity was more proliferant in today's world.
