Weak part, but fun
on January 25, 2013
The gun that mounts on top of the vehicle has a button to push (spreads out a satellite dish kind of thing) which has a complex gear mechanism made of plastic that endures alot of stress every time the button is pushed. It the gears slipped when my 7 year old son was first playing with it, and he was distraught because the gun wouldn't form all the way. To its compliment, it is held together with screws, so I took it apart and saw the gearing, gently lifted it out and readjusted it. After screwing it all back correctly, I pushed the button a couple of times and saw that it worked again. I gave it back and watched my son push it, nothing special or rough, and the gears slipped again. I fixed it again, only this time, when I pushed it to test, they slipped again. I fixed it one more time and my son figured out how to permanently lock it into the 'deployed' state.
Aside from that, its a great transformer, so if you're looking to just toss the gun in the garbage anyway to avoid reinforcing gun violence in your home, then this is a great choice.
