I love how this transformer was designed. It's cleverly structured, fairly durable, and the parts snugly in to place. I like how some of the joints remain tight even after a bit of use, infact the first time transforming from car to robot mode it was so tight I was scared something was gonna snap. Kudos to the mechanical engineer/toy-designer. I wish all the transformers looked so good and functioned as well as this one.

Swerve is a repaint of ROTF sideswipe and I personally think that the student has surpassed the master here. Swerve takes all the good traits of sideswipe AND gets a red redeco with a far superior head mold. To put it simply, if you liked sideswipe you will certainly like swerve!

It's one of the very few Trasnformers Movie (both movies) toys that I actually like, because most robot modes on the toys look aweful, this one (and the one one from where the repaint comes, Sideswipe) looks actually good.
His robot mode has very good articulation (and the moving parts on his legs is a really nice touch), it stands on it's own (someties it's a bit tricky to get it right, since he can skate on the tires in his feet) and they made a new mold for the head, instead of just repainting Sideswipe's.
In vehicle mode he looks pretty good, holds itself together pretty nicely and moves like a normal toy car.

The sleek design of the car and robot mode along with the red color makes this one of the coolest transformers! A very nice addition to the autobot team!

Purchased toy as Christmas present for son. He likes it, but hasn't really played it that much due to many other gifts. However, the toy was brand new and seems to be in good working order thus far. He does say he likes it.

My grandchildren love to play with transformers. In some points they are challenging, forcing kids to use their brains. I love them too

It was difficult to transform directions were no help my son gave up the day after christmas. It is now laying in the bottom of the toy box he got a one touch transformer and loves that this one sucks.

I didn't do any of the star ratings because they don't apply. I have no intention of opening the packaging the toy came in, it is more a display piece for me. I purchased it because it was a repaint of Sideswipe, which I thought should have been his color in the movie and not silver. Sometimes when they make a repaint they label it with a different name. ie the classics line Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are Identical which I was not pleased with. I had hoped they changed the head mold for Cliffjumper. I had expected the same with this Sideswipe/Swerve but the toy manufacturere threw me a curveball and changed the head mold. The new mold wasn't bad it actually looks very nice but it interferes with my "Sideswipe should be RED" opinion. The same was done with the movie version of Skywarp, the new head mold looks terrible and would have been happier if they left it alone. The same goes for the arms and hands. Apparently unlike Starscream, Skywarp has none. Just missles and blades.
