This review is from: Transformers Movie 2 Combiner - Construction Devastator (Toy)
I had been hearing a lot of bad things about Devastator when pics of him first got out, about an insane price tag and no robot modes, but he was the one I was looking forward to the most. I figured that I would find him and see for myself how bad he looked and if I didn't like it I wouldn't buy it. So I was at Toys R Us the other day and found the last one on the shelf and Devastator didn't look that bad to me...only the price tag did haha. While he is not as big as I had expected (Rumors where he would be 2ft tall at least, but he's a little over 1ft), its still pretty impressive to look at. When you open the box all the constructicons are already transformed into the limbs but are not connected and also a few parts like Scavengers' scoop and Mixmasters' truck cab, but all are easily connected. As in the movie Devastator is very top heavy and must be places in a hunchback or an on all-fours pose. He has and push button activated Vortex similer to the movie and His head expands a good five inchs or so and you can fit legends and scout class figures in there. The box says that transformation for him is a 4 and really I think hes been the easiest to transform out of all the transformers from ROTF! Pretty much its a turn here and pop these in and move that back motions when turning the Constructicons into vehicle mode. One thing that I really didn't like is Mixmaster won't ever shut up and there is no on-off switch and when he is transformed into a vehicle the slightest bump sends him off. All of them look great in vehicle mode exept High Tower as he is brightly colored compared to the other two yellow Constructicons. Paint details are minor as in they have none compared to the voyager and deluxe class Constructicons but I figure I'll paint him myself. So in all he is a decent figure and his price isn't for everybody but if your a fan of the movie Devastator you'll like it.Pros: ITS DEVASTATOR! Quick tranformation Vortex gimmick is cool In Robot mode he is good scale to legends class figures Cons: Price tag Paint job could have been a lot better Not very articulated No wrecking balls Mixmaster could have really used an on-off switch

Though the toy looks impressive when combined, the vehicles themselves don't transform. Talk about dissappointing, considering that both in the movie and in the original Devestator, the individual vehicles transformed. You have to buy the transformable vehicles individually, but they of course cannot combine to form anything. If they could put the best of both worlds together, easily a 5 star rating, but since they haven't, I can't imagine why anyone would give it a 5.

Devastator is back, bigger and as bad-ass as ever!Devastator is a great transformer for collectors, fans, and all age groups that are transformer fans. The only drawback to this bad boy is that the vehicles seperate do not transform into robot modes like the original G1 version.Hasbro did this on purpose it seems since longhaul, ravage, mixmaster, and scavenger(demolisher)all have individual figures of there own. This is one of the largest transformers ever made and is massive for a awesome display piece in or out of the box.Devastator has awesome features like the vortex grinder opens with lights and destruction sounds just like in the movie.Devastator also speaks with three different sayings while having conversion and motion-activated battle sounds. The poseability is outstanding with great stability for acting out battle scenes or displaying where you please. The secret for standing Devastator up is make sure the knees are bent,if you try to have him with the legs straight he will be to top heavy either way.The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and an all around solid build in robot or individual vehicle modes to handle any fight that comes his way.The transformation level is super conversion meaning there is mid-level difficulty for ones with plenty of experience. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you will have to help some in the beginning.Devastator actually has a very versatile and managable transformation for all ages to be able to handle the process after a few times. The decepticons included are scavenger, scrapper, long haul, rampage, hightower, and mixmaster. Each individual transformer is well built with a easy transformation for each one to end up forming whatever seperate part of the Devastator robot.Bottom line Devastator is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer all fans should treasure.I highly recommend Construction Devastator to all fans and collectors alike.Devastator Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

My son absolutely loves this transformer! The only problem is the toy is made up of 6 different transformers, so when you assemble them all together, it's difficult to keep it together and play with it too. My son has had a little trouble "clicking" all the parts together, but overall it's a great toy!

I bought this for my four year old who is a die hard transformer fan. He was not concerned that the devastator individual vehicles did not transform into robot mode because the devastator itself is a robot mode. Inserting the legs requires adult help for a little guy, but it was well worth it. It has entertained him all day (a tough job for any four year old) and other than needing to pop on and off the legs, he can do it himself. A great toy!

I bought this as a birthday present for my nephew (10 years old), and he absolutely loves Devastator. I can't blame him, either. Everything about Devastor is solid: Construction of the toys, the sound samples (in robot mode), the posibility and playablity of each vehicle, both on their own and when combined together. There's enough room in the mouth (which will open wide when pushing/holding down a button) to stuff smaller autobots in there to meet their maker. The only knocks against Devastator are the lack of paint details and Mixmaster - the cement mixer. In truck mode, he does not stop making noise. There's some sort of motion/light/vibration sensor on him. A simple touch will send him into a frenzy of noises that gets old fast. Be prepared to set aside about 15 minutes or so removing Devastator from all of those dreaded twist-ties, also. Overall, a bang up job by Hasbro. Just about anyone with an interest in Transformers will love this monstrosity!

Got this toy for my kid, b/c he wanted it for xmas. This thing doesn't "do" anything except make noise non-stop. No way to switch it off. Also, cannot support itself standing up as a robot, so it has to lie on the floor. At this price I expected much much more. The individual vehicles do not transform into robots, but only limbs of the devestator. There are also some pieces that have to completely come off of the vehicles to transform them into limbs. Those peices are left off to the side when in robot mode. Doesn't that violate something about what a transformer is? Not a fan of this toy.

I don't know what I expected, but what I got was a bit disappointing. The trucks that attach to the Devestator keep falling off. I would be more forgiving if each one transformed into a Deceptacon. For the price of this monstrosity I would hope my 4 year old son would play with it every day. Alas, it is now February and the Devestator has been placed on a shelf to collect dust. He'd much rather create soldiers and dinosaurs with his Kid K'nex. Lesson learned...

This transformer is way overpriced for what it is. I like it but it has been a little bit of a disapointment. I spent the 105.00 on it when it came out only to see the price drop like flies as people really got a good look at the toy and the reviews. Now you can buy it at Wal Mart for 85.00 online. Man did I get screwed.
