4.0 out of 5 stars keeps a 4 year old busy
My 4 year old son loves transforming this toy. It took him a while(with some help) to transform it, but now he does it on his own. After being transformed about 30 times the front of the car would not lock back into the up position. I see another reviewer's car developed the same problem. This toy is not as good quality as the Movie Leaders Optimus Prime and Megatron...

3.0 out of 5 stars Well, its sorta Bumblebee
Having purchased this early, I must say I want to like this figure. Considering that because of VW's stubbornness this could not be a Bug but instead a Camaro, it's not bad, although I would have appreciated some typical Bumblebee horns.

In robot mode, it has some stability problems, but I've seen worse. In car mode, it nice. [...] But even afterwards, I...

[...] But even afterwards, I still haven't been able to totally transform it back to car as the front of the Camaro won't stay put; it keeps flopping down. Just the initial transformation was worrisome; I kept thinking I am about to break the toy, and now when I want to turn it back to car, it won't go back in position.

If you like Bumblebee, you'll probably want him, but he's more for a collector to have on his shelf than for a kid to actually play with.

2.0 out of 5 stars Warning: Your may have a Factory Defect, June 1, 2007

I have been browsing round the internet and have spotted many websites where people are warning others about a factory defect that will break this toy. The Automorph feature of this toy has a tab that is the wrong thickness and will break off, preventing Bumblebee from transforming back. Hasbro has been producing a second version of Bumblebee, with the tab corrected but nobody is certain when it will be in stores.

Wanted to make sure people knew about this before they get mad or have to deal with a disappointed child.

1.0 out of 5 stars trust those who say bumblebee is broken.., July 13, 2007

Like the many who reported having bumblebee's front part of the camaro refusing to stay put, I have the exact same problem. The latch to keep the stupid spring loaded front hood is of the wrong side which basically makes this version of bumblebee unable to transform to a car. You're basically stuck with the robot.

Barricade is extremely hard to transform back to a car but I was eventually able to do it. I can't believe it took me that long too. I bought my kid maybe 5 other transformer toys and this is the first time I have been disappointed. Stay away from the Bumblebee/barricade combo toy. You'll only regret it later...I definitely am.

My son is almost eight and has been playing with Transformers for several years. We opened this Bumblebee and almost instantly the doors broke. They are VERY weak at the joint. All of our other Transformers over these few years have been great, this one however lacks quality construction.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bumblebee front hood problem in car mode?? Try this....., July 21, 2007

We also had the problem with the hood not clicking into place when going from robot to car mode. My husband noticed that underneath the "emblem" piece, (under the car) is a little yellow piece under the driver's side that had to be in just the right the place for the front hood to hold. He just slightly over-extended the front hood & watched this little piece move right into place. This keeps the front in place & is only under the driver's side.

How in the world are kids supposed to transform this toy when we couldn't even do it?

Hope this little trick helps you all.. Autobots Roll Out!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Bumblebee Transformer, July 19, 2007

I bought Bumblebee for my son and it is a fun toy to play with (for me and my son). Transforming Bumblebee is not difficult, but after 2 weeks of play, I too have the front end problem in "car mode". It will not snap back in, and just hangs down. These Transformers are definetly not made with the same quality of the 80's toys.

Bumblebee in classic camaro mode is an awesome improvement from the G1 days! The camaro mode is very movie realistic like it drove right out of the screen. It even has the faded racing stripe on the roof.Bumblebee comes with some great features like automorph technology and double missile launching blasters that mount on the shoulders in robot mode. The poseability of Bumblebee is outstanding with great stability for battle poses or creating battle scenes. The durability is excellent as well with Bumblebee having secure joints and a solid build in either robot or classic camaro mode.I transformed Bumblebee back&forth and had no problems with any parts not fitting together securely. The transformation level is advanced meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you might have to help out some during the process. The transformation process is very versatile for all ages with practice.Start off by pushing down the very back piece of the raised middle piece on the hood so the front end flips down. The double missile launching blasters can be stored underneath in camaro mode where the arm sections are. This is where the next part of the process takes place by the arm sections&side doors rotate outwards while the head piece is revealed.Next the windshield and side window piece rotates upwards to rest on the back of bumblebee while the rear section of the camaro splits in two.The feet then flip up,then slide down while the rear window sections do the same. The feet then flip up once more for the final step.Bumblebee is back better than ever and is a must have for any transformer fan.Bottom line Bumblebee is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer any fan will treasure.I highly recommend Classic Camaro Bumblebee to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Bumblebee Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

I am thrilled with this toy because my daughter loves Bumblebee. She is 4 and enjoys playing with it and was very excited to get it. She has the same one and it only cost $9.99 at Comic-con.
