Brawls seems fairly durable and does look menacing. However, the recommended ages from Hasbro and Amazon should not be taken seriously. Any kid under 7 or 8 will have a very difficult ranging into impossible time transforming Brawls, and since his ability to transform is a big part of his value, keep that in consideration. A Transformer savvy adult, with the instructions, can transform Brawls for the first time in say 10-15 minutes, and get down to 3-6 minutes depending on one's dexterity. With tons of practice and Chopin-like fingers you could probably do it in two, and impress the ladies. For kids, the initial times are much longer and really depend on age and development, and parents should expect to help out, especially with those first couple transformations.
In robot mode, Brawls can stand up without tipping over, though consistently getting him to stand takes a little practice. Previous experience with Transformers and other action figures is a big plus. The fact that his tank treads can act as secondary leg supports in robot mode allows a couple more poses/balancing schemes than there otherwise would be. As a tank he cuts a mean profile and its easy for the imaginative to forget he's a relatively little toy. Be very careful with the clip-on turret missile launchers, the clip-on front bocage cutters, and the long, red projectile he fires. These parts are super easy for kids and adults alike to lose, and are such nice touches that you certainly won't want to. Hasbro was on the ball when they designed Brawls to transform without removing these parts. Also, his gun fires the projectile a few feet and you really can hit things, to the delight of children and yourself. A note on pricing and value. I bought Brawls at my local Toys R Us for $9.99. That's right- $9.99. While he makes a cool collectible I doubt whether he'll hold his value over that in the near future, especially since I'd imagine Hasbro is quite likely to put out another production run given the success of the movie. How much you want to spend is up to one's your individual judgment but keep in mind that people are super-stoked about Transformers right now, and psychological considerations are probably driving up his and every other Trasformer's prices considerably.

First off, Brawl is my favorte G1 Combaticon (remember Bruticus?), and im glad he is in the new movie line. His body style pays tribute to his 80's namesake.
Just got him yesterday...I had to go to 3 stores to find this guy, and let me tell you..hes worth it. He makes a mean looking/armed to the teeth Decepticon when in robot mode, Love the claws, rotating guns on the shoulders...and lets not forget that awesome firing arm mounted cannon(..reminds me of megatron) the tank mode is based on an actual u.s. army Abrams tank and the detail in both robot and tank modes are equally impressive. the light up eye makes for a menacing glare, nice touch hasbro. Now comes the cons... those arms again ! they are a pain in the neck to lock into place when transformed, when they lock in place they stay put. he is a bit top heavy. but when you get his legs posed to the desired position, he will stay put. the transformation is smooth, but watch out for those arma again, because they will pop off..but they can be put back on with no problems. dont listen to some of the negative reviews on Brawl, he is worth checking out, if you can find him. He isnt as well built and sturdy as prime or jazz but he makes a great addition to my collection, because he looks so cool. Im really Impressed with some of the characters from the movie line, they are model quality and look good displayed on a shelf or on a desk ( i have a few on my desk at work, and my co workers think they are cool especially my jazz and prime ) these are aimed for the collector, and rightfully so. if you have small children. id think twice about getting them brawl, because some children are very careless. cant wait till the movie in July!

Decepticon Brawl is badass!Brawl is built for one thing, and one thing alone-destruction.His programming has been gripped by a rage so deep and hot that the only thing that allows him a few momments of happiness is the fury of combat. There is nothing so sweet to him as the thunderous noise of his shells bursting against the armor of an autobot.Brawl has awesome detail in either mode with a realistic looking tank mode that has the camo paint job and great articulation in the legs, body, arms, and head piece in robot mode. This bad boy comes with sweet features like rotating turrets and a projectile launching cannon. The poseability is outstanding with great stability to create battle scenes or displaying where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid overall transformation to handle any situation. The transformation level is advanced meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you might have to help some in the process.Honestly Brawl is a very versatile transformer with a managable transformation that all ages should be able to handle after some practice.Brawl is one of the best deluxe movie transformers around and is a must have for any fan.Bottom line Brawl is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer all fans should treasure.I highly recommend Decepticon Brawl to all transformer fans and collectors alike.Brawl Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

Transformers Movie Deluxe Decepticon Brawl
I wasn't impressed with Brawl to begin with. We'd all seen the pictures, the toys, etc. He just didn't scream "Gotta have!" in my book. I was wrong, and when I'm wrong...I'll admit it. He's not the best figure in the line, that's for sure, he's definitely not the worst either. Pros: Heavily detailed in both robot and vehicular modes. Robot mode looks impressive and imposing. Transformation is pretty neat, not exactly what you'd expect. Not to mention, the Automorph portion is simple yet cool enough to like. Cons: Arms will not lock in place, and if they do, can't be moved because they'll pop out of place. The figure's not broken you see, it's a design flaw. Basically, to pose him, you need to pop the arms loose, make your post and then put them back in place. (Which isn't the end of the world by any means, but it most certainly detracts from the figure.) Lack of paint applications in vehicle mode. I realize it's a tank and he's supposed to be camouflaged (which he is) but it's all drab coloring, some of it so much so, that the colors tend to blend in some spots, thus losing the "camo" look. Balance issues, his feet aren't that great at supporting his heft. Once you get it right though, he looks fantastic as he's poised to pounce into battle and start smashing things. If it wasn't for the vehicle's coloring, and the arms issue...I'd have given him 5 stars, but those arms are just absolutely unnecessary in a world of design such as our's. So, 4 out of 5. (I'd do 3.5 out of 5, but it didn't seem like the meter would allow it.) Still, all in all, he's a nice figure (especially robot mode) and I do recommend him to everyone, just realize he's far from perfect.

Most reviews will tell you the same I am about to. His stupid arms WILL NOT STAY PUT. he really is an excellent figure otherwise, though the issue with his arms put a ridiculous hindrance on the whole value of him. You get him transformed the first time, really ingenious how his arms fold into the turret, but in the end you go to attach them and they just, well nothing..
The point where the Shoulder is has a peg that should fit into a space on his torso where you'd expect, looks simple enough, but really too simple. No locking or snapping or trapping of the piece means nothing much at all is holding his arms from just falling to the sides. Even if your just trying carefully to pose him, you have to hold his shoulders in place if you are touching his arms at all. This IS a big problem, but I was still a big enough fan of brawl to get this one, he IS really cool aside that. Just sad, if they'd addressed that before releasing him, he would have been the best in his class for the Decepticons. I do suggest fans of brawl check out his Leader Class, THAT one is awesome. If you own only one version of Brawl, go with Leader Class.

Brawl is probably at least worth checking out. While the tank and robot both look great and the automorph is exceptional, the arms don't clip in very well (frustratingly so) and the transformation is more complex than it would appear (not too frustrating).
I find most of my fun in Transformers in the actual transformation, and by looking at brawl initially I just expected it to be a pretty standard "The tank extends legs, the front folds out, and arms pop out of somewhere". What I got was something a bit more complicated - but by no means frustratingly so - with the same cool but uncomplicated-looking result. If the engineers behind this spent so much time designing such a transformation, couldn't they make the result a little more interesting? Before I get to the arms, my favorite part is by far the "Automorph technology". GENERALLY, I think these are pretty dumb since they often make the bots harder to transform (Iced Megatron) and yield no cool effect (I broke my Bumblebee 'cause Automorph was not very responsive). Brawl is a HUGE exception to this. When the chest flips down, the head flips up and the treads fold up on either side, all in one fluid motion thanks to gears in the chest; I feel this definitely embodies what automorph is about, since it capitalizes on a step of the transformation anyway, and it looks really cool when you do it (you can even look closely to see how the gears work)! *Sigh*... Now the worst bit: the shoulders do not clip in very well if at all. There is a place for little bits on the shoulders to "clip" into the chest bit, but they immediately fall back out again since there is no pressure to keep them in. I have improvised slightly with the flaps on the back to try to keep them in, but it means moving the arms at all takes care, and if you have kids don't be surprised if you're asked to put them back in place every 5 seconds. Overall I am happy with Brawl. He looks cooler than a lot of the other Transformers out there in both modes, which - along with automorph - helps make up for the bad shoulder design and the unnecessarily long transformation.

Brawl's unique transformation style, awesome rotating turrets, and long range cannon blasts make Brawl a very, very fun toy to play with! Brawl has an amazing blast that shoots at least three feet. He is very durable and detailed and a blast for anyone to play with - young and old! Brawl has an easy Transformation, yet both his robot and vehicle mode are of high quality. The only problem with Brawl (and it is a common Transformer flaw) is his shoulder socket. It is very hard to lock into place. i have not been able to actually keep them there yet.
I would very very highly recommend this Transformer to absolutely anyone.

When the package came, i was excited i'm 18 but i felt like a 5 year old. Now the arm is the only problem butlike what that guy said is true that its a designer problem and the toy isn't broken thsi si more for collectables and not for brawl attack! etc but overall i like it. He was awesome in the movie, and awesome as a toy. well as a teen's point of veiw, you should buy it.
