He's one big dude. Of course he's just a repaint of the regular Leader Class Brawl but I have to say that I like the new color scheme. The story on the box goes that he got all hoped up on Allspark energy after the events of the movie and wandered off into the desert, changed his color palate to better blend in the new environment and began terrorizing folks. Of course he died in the movie but, oh well.
The light brown with blue highlights really makes him pop more than the original drab green and to be honest most people are probably more used to seeing this type of color on military vehicles at this point in time so it looks pretty natural as well. As to the toy itself it is a really impressive piece of work. In vehicle mode it approximates this type of tank really well and in robot mode is very powerful looking and armed to the teeth. He gets arm cannons on both arms, blades on his left arm and his legs, two four barrel turret guns behind his shoulders and his heavy tank cannon at his side. The tank cannon is really cool and is mounted to his body via the turret rather than arm mounted like the deluxe version and adds a new dynamic to him that is really interesting. His arms are much less flimsy than his deluxe version predecessor as well. The only reservation I have about his robot form at all is that his legs end up being really really thick, but hey, he's got to store a lot of metal somewhere. The transformation itself is entirely different from the deluxe version too which was a welcome surprise. He features three different gun noises and lights which is pretty cool. I have transformed him several times and have not had any issue with damage (most of these you won't if you take just a smidge of care). The only problem at all I've had is that the red light in the end of his main turret quit working almost as soon as I used it. My guess is a loose wire. Not a deal breaker by any means as all else works perfectly. Overall I'd say that he's a fun, cool looking and dynamic toy to own.

Brawl wasn't my favorite movie charector (in the movie he's called Devastator, who in Revenge of the Fallen is a giant robot combined from the six constructicons, who, by the way, was just released) but he's my favorite of the movie line. On the back of the box it says that after the battle for the Allspark he repainted himself and hid in the desert, yet he died in the movie. Oh well, anything for the sake of marketing. Transforming him into a robot is easy, yet it's difficult putting him into tank mode. The plates that form won't stay put for more that one cussed second unless you resort to using rubber bands. I find the khaki repaint a big improvement over the original green paint, in fact that kept me from buying him until this version came out, and in the blink of an eye I had ordered Deep Desert Brawl. And was I disappointed? NO! He, in fact, is among the best transformers in my collection, and, in my opinion, is the best out of the movie line. After a while, the main gun barrel stops lighting up unless you pull the lever that activates all electric lights and sounds. All in all, a great transformer.
WARNING: NOT FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN WHO LACK THE ATTENTION SPAN THAT TRANSFORMING THIS FIGURE REQUIRES

If I had to have one Decepticon I would choose Brawl. He's awesome he's fun to play with and he makes sounds. It's just amazing I really like it. If I had to rate yhis toy 1-10 I would give it a ten. You can't go wrong buying this it is so fun I think you would love it if you bought it.

Nice leader class figure. Colors are too bright for my personal taste but that is easily fixed with some custom painting. Overall an amazing looking character with many weapon options.

Leader class Brawl in this desert colors or his original green is the best toy from the 2007 movie line. That's not an opinion, that's a fact of life. In this review I am going to prove it using Amazon's star based rating system.
How much fun? Leader Brawl is a massive tank with more weaponry than I have ever seen on a movie line toy so the fun really never stops in vehicle mode. Transformed he is a huge hulking robot with access to all the tank's armament including two extra gauntlet weapons and the main cannon can be held by the robot thanks to some incredibly clever engineering in the turret section of the tank. He is the pinnacle of fun indeed! Durability? Brawl may suffer from some small pieces that can come off in robot mode but considering how articulated the figure is I don't see how Hasbro could have done a better job. For the record he is substantially more durable than his deluxe class counterpart and he has a lot more play options. I have dropped him from a table before and once I found a missing part or two I had him put together good as new. With just a little caution durability is not a problem. Educational? When you have as much kit as Brawl carries you don't need education! He does depict a nice version of an M1 Abrams tank so you can learn why you should never mess with a modern engine of destruction. 5 Stars so Brawl won't hurt me! Overall? Tank mode is highly accurate and a ton o' fun. The robot is bristling with weapons and fantastic articulation with the ability to strike some truly menacing poses. He's fun, durable, and he is without doubt the Best toy you will find in the 2007 movie line.

Brawl is amazing. I got him for [...] and hes worth it.he comes with two double AA batteries and they go in the back of his tank gun or his "backpack".
Cons One con about this figure is it's tricky to transform this guy at some parts. I say the directions are mostly understanding but theres a couple of tough spots. No biggy once you do it once, it sticks with you. Sometimes a part may come off like his blades but they fit perfeclty back in. Pros One pro about this figure is a new paint job. I like his new paint job I think it's pretty cool. He's a white army camoflauge tank unlike his other green camoflauge tank. Also he's big wich makes him cool. He's about the size of Leader Prime when you have him in tank mode. He's about the same height as Leader Primeif you count his treads but not his head. In tank mode he has four wheels wich work out very nicely. Gimmics Brawl's gimmics are very cool in robot mode and tank mode. One gimmic is if youpush back his machine gunhe has flip out blades on his right arm. On his left arm theres his other gun wich if you push forward on a black tab on the side his gun slides out. Another gimmic if you push in his tank barrel you get a firing sound and it lights up. Also you can press a button on his back. Next if you push his head down it makes a machine gun, Tank barrel, and then a missle firing sound. Over all Over all I would recomend this toy it's just a really great figure you can't go wrong with it. I don't think a child of less than eight could transform it. So I say buy it but make sure you can transform it. |
