We have about five of these Rescue Bots toys, and in general I highly recommend them. They are easy to transform, durable, and fun to play with for kids from 3-7. This particular model (Medix the Doc Bot), is not the best. It is tricky for younger kids to transform, and like another reviewer mentioned, it's hard to get it to "lock" into place as an ambulance.

Both my 3 year old boy and my just turned 5 year old boy have trouble transforming Medix, and they have both gotten frustrated in playing with it.

If you are new to Rescue Bots, start with another model! Buy this one if you are Rescue Bots fanatics trying to complete your collection. (By the way, this model is not in the Rescue Bots TV show -- at least, not the current seasons).

The rescue bots line is fantastic! My son loves some of the other series that have a "Rachet" character and Medix is very similar in looks so it's a win-win for us because Medix isn't in the rescue bots series (yet!). The rescue bots toys are MUCH more sturdy and well built than the transformer one-steps and are a huge hit in our house; Medix is a great size and fits right in with all his fellow rescue bots.

Went to Hasbro's website and found a list of retailers that carry this toy. Target.com had it online for $11.99 yesterday! Very excited for my 4yo to get Medix now and for a retail price!

I'm writing this for multiple reasons, the first of which is to address some peoples complaints about the price. I hope I either save someone some effort/heartache or explain why some of these Rescue Bots are as pricey as they are.

This run, the basic model of Rescue Bots, is no longer on store shelves. The new "Rescue Bots Energize!" is replacing them. I noticed this problem about a month ago, as I was trying to complete my sons set (More on that soon), and where once I could very easily find Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and even the more rare Hoist in our local Walmart, this is no longer the case. During the holiday season, I traveled from Northeastern Kansas, to southern Illinois, into Kentucky and Indiana, and I stopped at many stores that previously would've carried these toys hoping to come across one at "Retail" price.

That being said, the "Product Dimensions" are misleading, as it includes packaging. The toy itself is about 6 inches high.

On to the toy, and toy line itself. My son turned 3 on January 9th, and currently has a complete set of these transformers (except Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, those two he has the Energize! version, a problem for me but not for him, I'll fix that soon enough though!)

He plays with them daily, sometimes for an hour or more in one sitting. He can easily transform all of them with the exception of Medix, but I'm sure he'll get that one soon enough. They are durable, colorful, enhance motor skills, and many of them come with a DVD of the show, which is also excellent.
Most of all, they're FUN. My 9 year old daughter loves to play with them, though sometimes this leads to fights, especially if it's one of his favorites ("Awesomus Prime)

I honestly cannot recommend these toys enough.

Medix is a great toy. My 3 year old got him n loved playing with all his bots. Then he threw them in the trash while we were cleaning. At least that's what we assumed happened. I wanted to replace him for my son, however I'm not paying this ridiculous amount for a child's toy. I think all of you who are selling a toddler toy that retailed around $15 for what you are asking for now are the worst kind of people. You're a bunch of greedy opportunists trying to capitalize on parents who want to give their child toys they love. My son loves the Rescue Bots. He watches the cartoon everyday n because he's young and people are greedy he'll never have a replacement for a cool toy that was accidentally thrown away. I hope you are all ashamed of yourselves.

I bought the DVD of the show and three of the Rescue Robots for my son. He loves playing with them and loves the DVD. However, Medic is not in the series and so not as exciting as the ones in the DVD. The ones in the DVD are the helicopter, the police car, the firetruck and the bulldozer.

My son loves playing with the old transformers at my father in laws house so I ordered him a few rescue bots for christmas.

The police car, fire truck, and bull dozer are all huge hits b/c he had no problem changing them from robot to vehicle on his quest to conquer the family room.

The Doc Bot gives him a lot more trouble changing from robot to vehicle and I think this has to do with the push button design. Granted I have probably had to change this into a truck 100 times for him already and he has no problems with the other three rescue bots purchased.

I would recommend going with the rescue bots that do not have a push button, but we could have gotten a defective item.

We have a few of the Rescue Bots, and they are generally very, very nifty. We got a defective Medix, though; he will not stay in ambulance mode without parts popping out a bit. We are going to exchange it for another one and hope it was just a fluke. If you're only going to buy one, this probably isn't the one to buy.
