Avoid the temptation,

This review is from: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Video Game)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a game based loosely on the movie of the same name. The Wii version was produced by Krome Studios and was developed alongside the PS2 version. (The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions were developed separately from this one.) While a game like this might seem to appeal to fans of the series, the reality is that this is an aggravating and disappointing Transformers entry that should be avoided at all costs.
The problems with this game are legion. The graphics seem like a step back from the Traveller's Tales-produced Transformers: The Game, with bland backgrounds and jerky animation. The ranged weapons are difficult to aim and are underpowered to boot, frequently forcing players into melee combat. The melee controls are a chore, thanks to insensitive motion detection that forces players to shake the Wii Remote so hard it gets painful quickly. The level design is linear, with most areas consisting of fighting spawns of repetitive enemies, moving a short distance, then fighting more of the same enemies. The plot only broadly covers the movie, although Shia LeBeof haters will be pleased to know that he is virtually absent from this game. Topping it all off is the baffling fact that this is a *Transformers* game but you rarely get to do any actual *transforming* outside of two or three on-rails racing / flying sequences. At four hours, the game is pretty brief, and it's a pretty aggravating four hours at that. There are some extras, such as concept art and videos, but they don't come close to justifying this game's retail price tag. Whatever your level of devotion for the Transformers franchise, don't let the glorious Optimus boxart fool you -- stay far, far away.

Now I am not a dedicated video gamer, but this is a pretty decent game. It was not very difficult to conquer, I believe it only took about 3 hours, but it has a fun story line and allows you to play with both Autobots and Decepticons. A feature I thought added to the overall enjoyability of the game was that a 2nd person can play as a "secondary weapon" helping the main character through the missions either by firing a cannon, or putting up a shield to protect, and also feeding him energy if needed. Overall a fun game, especially for the younger crowd.

Summary:
Battle your way as you use Autobots and Decepticons. This is a two-player game; you and your friend can crash and destroy Decepticons. Use your Autobots to destroy Devastator. Use your Decepticons to battle Prime. What I like: I like flying in the sky with Starscream and I like making Devastor crash to the ground. I like knocking off Demolisher's wheel. I like to be Optimus Prime falling from the cargo plane. These are some of my favorite parts of this game. What I don't like: Dying. Sometimes you get killed a lot in the game, but not if you're really good. But, you get another life and get to continue the game. Recommendation: I know it's a rated T game, but I think a 4-year old would be able to play it. I am 7 years old, and I think this game is awesome! I think everyone who likes Transformers will like this game. Mom's note: My boys (4 and 7) both love this game, and look forward to playing it. As mentioned in the other reviews, the game play is linear (you have to follow the story line the way it is scripted) and you can only transform when the game requires it. For serious gamers, this limitation may be frustrating, but my boys don't seem to mind. You are also provided clues along the way that help you defeat your enemy, switching between the Autobot and Decepticon campaigns. There is lots of fighting, but no visible gore, and the language seems appropriate for children. The main point of the game is to fight battle after battle, following the story line. Bottom line, if you like endless battle scenes of the Transformer variety, you'll probably enjoy this game.

Well I really thought this would be a much better game but it kinda stinks. I mean the graphics are good but in last Transformers game, the graphics were MUCH BETTER and the shooting isn't as good as the last one, and what really stinks about it is that YOU CAN'T TRANSFORM and in the last game you could. IT STINKS! The last thing I have to say about it is that you can be a Decepticon but you can't choose if you want to play in Decepticon story mode or Autobot story mode,WHICH YOU COULD CHOOSE IN THE LAST GAME. So the last game is much better then this game and this game is not so great. The game stinks I thought it would be much better.

There isn't much I want to say about this game other than the quality of the graphics are phenomenal. I'm also new to playing Wii so I thought this was a great first challenge. At times I wished the game would have better instructions on how to beat an opponent or how to do special moves because I'd play a level over and over and not realize that I couldn't beat them without a special technique. I had to look up a few moves on web-blogs and stuff. Also, there is a level or two where your 'special move' doesn't work. Maybe it's a glitch in the system. Overall great game, great quality, and cool bonus features too :)

I bought this game off notion that a site like IGN posted it was going to be one of the hot games of the summer to get and boy were they wrong as they ended up giving it a horrible review.
I could handle the overly linear level design and PS2 quality graphics if the motion controls were more responsive. You literally have flail your arm so violently it will cause pain in your wrist and forearm. The point and shoot interface was decent but the way the camera is set up makes it hard to hit some of your enemies which are shooting at you but they are offscreen because of the locked in camera angles. I had high hopes for this as Krome got recognition for having good motion controls in the Force Unleashed. Its really a pity when a developer and its publisher take a lazy way out.

Great Game!!! Fun and easy to learn. My son only had to have a bit of guidance from Dad, but all in all it has been a great game that he goes back to over and over again.
