The other person A.A. Bader does have it correct, however i would not use such "Colorful" language.

First of all, DO NOT pick the PC version but if you must, make sure you have a 360 gamepad (i dont sadly). I probably had a worse time because i was used to the 1st one's controls (which i would highly recommend over this one)but it is still horrid anyway. You...

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews of this game. I recently picked it up on PC and am having loads of fun with it. The controls were a bit difficult for me to get used to at first, but once I'd played for a bit (and it helps that you can do each scenario over and over again as often as you want) they became second nature (and, of course, you can reset them as you like). I love the versatility of each character, and I enjoy replaying missions with different characters (or even the same character, utilizing different skills). The post-mission dialogue changes depending on how well (or poorly) you did in various aspects (collateral damage, amount of time spent on the mission, etc.), which makes replaying it even more fun. And I haven't even played any of the Decepticon campaigns yet!

My only complaint is that it is too short. I'd like to see more missions. I'd also like to see additional skill upgrades. Because you can replay each mission as often as you want, and earn energon each time, you can easily max out your levels long before playing the final mission. It almost makes the game too easy.

All in all, I've found this game to be a lot of fun. I'm enjoying playing it over and over again. If it weren't for family and work obligations, I'd probably never get off this game!

You have to hold the shift key to stay transformed and to fire you must click the mouse wheel. If your in robot mode you gotta hold the middle mouse button and press the left to fire. If you let go of the shift key you will return to robot mode.

The missions are fairly bland with just small modifications on "Kill everything" The 1st one was just like this, except kinda more annoying
cause the enemy could block.

The upgrade system is just to increase performance, you wont notice any new moves or anything. The 1st one did not have this

The graphics are decent but not excelling. I personally thought the 1sts was better

There is a decent variety of robots, but to play as all of them in a certain area you must unlock them (not too challenging). The 1st one had a one bot only per mission.

The two major things the 1st one had but this one lacks is

1, Difference between sides. In the 1st one you actually got two different experiences depending on what side you took. Some levels were only available on a certain side. With this one its the same campaign, but just do you want to play it is the good or bad guy.

2, Mess with the environment. You can destroy small things in the world in this game but that's about it. In the 1st one you could destroy buildings (not completely but their damage was noticeable) and pick up and throw just about anything. Or with trees and lamp posts, use them like a bat.

The one and only thing which actually makes this game worth 1/10 of the $30 i spent is the online. The 1st one did not have this, and ill admit it putting the crappy controls aside it was pretty fun. Nice chunk of game modes and maps. Noting like Call of Duty but its the only noticeable feature.

If you love slow online robot brawling and that alone i heartily recommend this.

If you want a quality game, try something else.

3.0 out of 5 stars Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for PC, August 13, 2011

This game is basically a more in depth view of the events in the movie by the same name. The graphics are great for the day but the gameplay is actually much worse than the first game Transformers: The Game due in no small part to the combersome control system that cannot be changed! Not being able to change the controls is probably the biggest downfall for this game. That one feature would have made a lot of difference. The graphics and sound are great but the controls and therefore the gameplay are rediculous. The story is a great companion to the movie. I recommend this game only at under $20 and if you are a fan of the series.

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY VERY VERY BAAAAD, December 4, 2009

This game is ridiculously over-priced for the less than sub-standard graphics I have EVER seen in a video game. As most of the reviewers have rightfully said, the controls are awkward. I played this game once and had to squint my eyes through it all to try to make out figures in the dark (not poetic...literally!!) atmosphere...it was no fun at all. Had me running up and down and shooting stuff that I can't see. Horrible graphics! Just Horrible!

The movie was excellent though. They totally botched the game. I un-installed it...took up 6GB of harddrive. OMG! for such lame graphics I do not understand.

For those other reviewers saying the graphics are terrible, what video settings are you using? I have a GTX260 and this game looks and plays very smoothly. While it may be easier to play with an Xbox controller, It's NOT needed. 90% of all pc games require the awkward mouse and keyboard combo. This is a good thing as it will force you to memorize where your keys are. After playing World of Warcraft for 4 years, I needed a quick "shoot 'em up" game. This game is perfect for that. This game is lacking in depth though, I really wish there was more to it. I beat both Autobots and Deseptacons in under 4 hours total. Considering I only paid about 5 bucks out of pocket (25 dollar gift card) this game really isn't that bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good once you set up new keyboard controls, December 5, 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (DVD-ROM)
My 11 year old son's review of this game -

This is a third person shooter. It is a pretty easy game which is good if you typically find video games to be frustrating. If you are pretty good at video games, you may feel like the game it too easy. It takes about a day to complete the two campaigns. Additional game play comes in the variations such as playing as different Transformer characters. I played it for about a week with the variations. It was a lot of fun, even if it was easy. If something happened to all my games and they had to be replaced, this is a game I would want to have in my collection again. Just running around shooting stuff as a Transformer was a blast! There is a roaming mode that let's you play free-form once you play the level in both areas and get the medal. I also enjoyed the G1 (Generation 1) series episodes that popped up as unlockable bonuses.

There are a few problems with the game, but it is pretty easy to find work arounds ...

In vehicle mode, for some reason, you cannot stop. I found a work around. If you hold right click or use the e-brakes (makes you turn more than stop) while holding R for reverse and when you come to a stop then rapidly press R. It will make the transformer shake, but you will be stop.

It took me about an hour to figure out how to go up in jet mode. It is the same button you use to go back in robot mode.

The control scheme is horrible (the button assignments for action). You can modify the scheme though. My modifications include changing it to right click for weapon mode so that you avoid distractions by having to find the key on the keyboard during battle. The middle mouse button for switching weapons is a handy key assignment too. Other actions are used under less intense pressure, so they are fine in keystroke mode. E is for climbing. G is for special ability. When you are in weapon mode if you press your transformation button it will activate your special ability. F is for transformation, but you have to hold it down. Q is good for melee because it is near the other left hand buttons. I like r for overdrive for the same reason. You cannot leave the control menu until you see all the controls in the list when you scroll down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Revenge of the Game, August 21, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

After the practically failed and laughable first game, I decided not to purchase the second game when it came out. I had seen where critics called the game "better than the first" but also how they said that the game wasn't any more fun. I went out on a limb when I bought this, after seeing the third movie and finding out that the Dark of the Moon game isn't available for PC. I am glad to say that this game is MUCH better than the previous.
The characters are spot on, and the weapons are actually useful this time around. With more weapon modes and attacks, quicker, seamless transformations, and smoother controls, this game far outweighs the first. The animations are perfect, and the minions for either side are more like out of the movie, instead of cartoony like this games predecessor. There are even multiple gameplay modes.
The (decepti)cons to this game though, are that the gameplay modes repeat for both campaigns, and after you complete the (easy) side objectives in each level, there isn't much more call for playing it. While it is very fun, the replay level is low. Die hard fans should get a few play-throughs out of it. Passing fans may want to just rent it for a console somewhere.
Good game, but doesn't offer anything you haven't seen before somewhere. Love Transformers? At least give this game a try.
