5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Fun Game
I bought this game the day I saw the movie which was opening day. I have to say, for [...], it's a bit different than the original. 1st things 1st, you can't play as the faction you want, you play the level you are given. The advantage is the fact that once you beat them, you can play them again if you want. You can't transform at will, but if you push the down arrow on...

1.0 out of 5 stars A complete rip off
My neighbor rented this game for Xbox 360 and the game was amazing. So I went and bought the game for PS2. It is the worst game I have played in along time. I mean, you can't even transform. Besides that, the story is completely different on PS2, which also made me mad. The worst part of the game is the graphics. The graphics in this game are so bad my friend thought it...

Besides that, the story is completely different on PS2, which also made me mad. The worst part of the game is the graphics. The graphics in this game are so bad my friend thought it was a PS1 game. So if you plan to buy this game, prepare to play one of the worst games you will ever play.

1.0 out of 5 stars Completely different game from other gaming system versions, July 5, 2009

We bought this game for our son's PS2. It was fine, he had fun. Then we went over to his friend's house. They had the "same" game for their XBox. Their "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" game for the XBox is an entirely different game than the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" game we have for the PS2. My husband played both versions yesterday and confirmed my initial suspicion of they're being different games. This is false advertising. I understand that the XBox has better graphics, etc... But, to make an entirely different game for the PS2 and call it by the same name, with the same photo on its cover is ridiculous and a rip-off. My son is beside himself. If I had known that this was a completely different game, I would have bought the WII version instead. Now I know why the price is $29.99 for the PS2 version. Buyer beware!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Already Defeated..., July 22, 2009

This review is from: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Video Game)
I preorder Transformers 2 for PS2 for my son's 8th birthday. My son received the game on his 8th birthday which was a Wednesday and 3 days later on Saturday he had the game completed. During the week we work and he is at camp hence the only time he had to play was in the evenings. We are very, very disappointed in this game. The graphics and activities/levels come no where close to comparing to the 1st game. It's like stepping back in time. A huge problem I've found with the game is that if you are in the middle of a level and die it starts you back from the same spot where you died with everything just as it was when you died as long as you don't shut the game off. Example: Defeating Prime - Once you destroy all of the other autobots, destroy the pillars (or whatever they are), make it past the lasers if you die you will start right back in this spot almost as if your life was completely renewed and you never died. My son has already lost interest in the game which is something he was so excited about. REALLY DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY...IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

I bought this game the day I saw the movie which was opening day. I have to say, for [...], it's a bit different than the original. 1st things 1st, you can't play as the faction you want, you play the level you are given. The advantage is the fact that once you beat them, you can play them again if you want. You can't transform at will, but if you push the down arrow on the controller, it gives them a special transformation attack. I am currently on the level where you have to beat Prime as Megatron. The reason you can't pick factions is because it follows with the movie. I have yet to play as Skids, Mudflap, and Ravage. Anyway, if you are looking for a Transformers game that trounces over than the original, than I highly recomend you buy this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Huge Disappointment, November 25, 2009

Movie games can be iffy to begin with, but I'm a huge Transformers fan, and I did enjoy the game tied to the first movie. This one was a huge disappointment, though. You can't transform. That's a critical flaw, right there. Every single zone is a completely linear path, with no room for choice and not even camera control for looking around. The boss fights end with a required key combination displayed on the screen, like you're playing Simon Says (the musical toy) while a cut-scene plays. They butcher the movie plot (which might be okay, since the movie wasn't *that* great ... but this is much worse). Some zones make no sense, like the one where Jetfire--a jet, mind you--is forced to walk through a series of ambushes, rather than to take to the air. The voices all sound wrong, the acting is pretty bad in general. There are two or sometimes three cut scenes between every adventure. You can't choose a faction, but have to play a mix of autobot and decepticon in a linear progression. Apparently the game is completely different on the PS2 than on the other consoles. Considering the name and packaging are mostly identical, and considering the game is apparently much better in the other formats, passing off this travesty as the same title is a real shame.

Yes, if you're a real Transformers fan you do get to play some of your favorite characters. And yeah, you get to blow some things up. The auto-target feature for ranged weapons actually works pretty well, the single area that is definitely better than the original game. But those few things aren't really worth it, they just bring the game up from zero stars to one star, in my mind.

Oh, and did I mention you can't transform? That alone is reason enough to ask for a refund.

This game was a step back in time to the age of pong and pit fall, but pong and pit fall were fun to play. You could not move the camra angles and the game decidede where the tranforsmers could and could not go. The first tranformers the game you could go anywhere in a level This one you travel in a small area. This game is not worth the money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty bad, July 20, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Video Game)
Like the Wii version it is ported from, the PS2 version of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is entirely different from its higher powered console brothers. Here, there's no choosing whether you want to be on the side of Autobots or Decepticons, and instead switch off between various characters as the game's story calls for it. Also like the Wii version, the PS2 version features the same annoying and boring gameplay, terrible controls, and just overall sloppy production all around. The graphics don't look too bad for a late in life game on the PS2, but that hardly makes up for the rest of this crud-fest. All in all, like the Wii version, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on the PS2 is better off being avoided all around, no matter how much of a Transformers fan you may be.

I HATE THIS GAME. let me just say it is NOTHING like the XBOX 360, PS3, and PC games. Before you get the game look at this review or any othe review on this page. Then decide if u still want it. First you cant choose between autobots and decepticons campains. Second you CAN NOT TRANSFORM AT WILL i mean whats up with that. You can do a special attack with your veicle mode but you only stay in your vehicle mode for a certin amount of time during the attack and it drains your energy. Also the graphics stink. Also their is alot of glitches. Whoever made this game really stinks. I am going to get the PC game and i hope its better that the PS2 game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wow really?, June 25, 2009
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Video Game)
First off I understand that this is a early review seein how the game just got out. I Pre-ordered it for my PS2. Maybe it's cause I bought the Playstation 2 version but I'm really dissapointed, I understood that it probably wasn't going to have all the same great details as maybe the xbox or ps3 versions. But wow really? the graphics were really really really bad. They don't do any of the trailers for this game justice. One of the biggest things that bothers me besides you not really getting to choose your character but that you literally can't transform! Unless it's mission specific. Other wise your running around on a path in robot mode fighting drones. And all the moves no matter if your an autobot or decepticon all seem very similar. This sequal doesn't even compare to the first movies video game. Again I'm discussing the Playstation 2 version of the game. I'm sure some of the other systems are better. But if your like me still with a PS2 and you wanna play this game your better off renting it.
