Hot Rod was always my favorite Autobot and admittedly the old toy didn't really capture the character well from back in the animated days. The Revoltech Hot Rod(imus) on the other hand? Wow. It's him. First off, this is a Revoltech, so it is NOT A TRANSFORMING TOY. But believe me, that's not a bad thing. Hot Rod is so flexible that you can get him into nearly any pose a proper cartoon robot can assume. The paint applications are beautiful and there's even a hint of sparkle to the paint in places. As expected the Revolver joint system holds up well to constant posing and reposing. Now for the problems. The hands are swappable giving you fist variants ranging from thumbs-up to guns. The variation is nice, but the problem is the point of attachment. Most Revoltechs feature interchangeable hands that are solid pieces; Hot Rod's feature glued in posts that are then inserted into the arm at the wrist. The attachment point is so tight that it can (and has) ripped the post free from the hand leaving a stump. It's fixable, but also kind of irritating. Revoltechs are usually better thought out in terms of design, so this was sort of a shocker. Secondly, because he's a Revoltech, he's not very big. I don't have a lot of excess space so I don't mind, but at 4 inches tall I know some people might be a little put off. I will say that despite the problems, I am totally happy with this toy and (to me) he was absolutely worth the money!

He is a very nice figure, granted he doesn't transform, however he does come w/ interchangeable hands.and another head with scope glasses, so you can recreate the scene in the move where he scopes out decepticons from the lookout point!! Amazing detail, if you like hot rod and like the revoltech line he's a great little figure. He is great for displaying but like all the other Tranformer Revoltech figures, his hands tend to break. just pop out the little plug and crazy glue it back to the actual hand and everything should be OK, just be careful when changing the hands. Comes with a stand to create some amazing action poses, if prime had been made like this guy we would be 10X more awesome. Hot Rod fans don't miss out!! Transformer fans get him if you really like him he's a great little figure and is worth [...].

This is my first revoltech figure, I love all the articulation points this figure has and how accurate is to the cartoon character. The paint job is also very good

I expected so much more from Revoltech, but alas, here we have someone else trying to make a buck off the name and revamped hype of Transformers. The figure looks awesome in the pictures, but it's not so inspiring once it arrives in it's teeny package. It was much smaller than I imagined even after reading the dimensions. Despite that, I tried to get hype about it once I opened the package to see all the little neat hand pieces and head. However, the hands were so hard to come off, one of them broke. It wouldn't even pull out. The other head, I couldn't get it after taking the original off. I'm pretty fit, and I gave it dang near everything to push it on. If it takes all that to change out the pieces, it's not worth it. Besides that, it has the feel of having a limited amount of poses before the figure because useless and loses it's hold. I won't try this again from this line for Transformers. Good idea though.

Well it's Hod Rod!!!! It is the Hot Rod we all remeber from the movie (the 1987 movie) and cartoon. I have not opened mine as of yet. When I got mine I was just about to rip it open when, I stopped and decided not to open it. He looks good in the box. I got them just because they look like the cartoon.

I love having all the Revoltech Transformers figures and not having to pay an arm & a leg for each of them from Amazon! They are great figures & fun to put in all kinds of poses; especially for battle scenes to just pass the time when I'm bored. I know it sounds childish but to be in tune with my inner child for just a bit is fun, relaxing & gets the creative side of my brain going! I loved Transformers when I was a kid & i'm still a fan of the movies & animated series of the 80's & these figures have that same nostalgic feel! And as figures go, these ARE ALL AWESOME!!!

The packaging is nice . . . the figure is nice . . . but man is it tiny . . . it is in scale with a 3 3/4 style figure . . . maybe a bit bigger . . . $20 for this . . . meh . . . should have spent my money on something else.
