4.0 out of 5 stars One of the Better Universe Figures, December 6, 2003

This review is from: Transformers Universe Silverbolt Figure (Toy)
Silverbolt was originally released in 1998, and was repainted for the Universe line. The beast mode looks great, and the wing missiles work pretty well. Robot mode also looks good, but I wish that there was a way to place the wings flush with his back (thus giving him a look along the lines of the original Starscream.)

My big complaint is the paint scheme. Purple? Why purple? Purple makes no sense. Wolfs aren't purple. Falcons aren't purple. I can see it now:

Starscream: "Megatron, a purple flying wolf approaches."
Megatron: "Wow, he stands out really well against the blue sky. Shoot to kill."

I know the original Silverbolt was grey, so they had to repaint from that--but they could have made him black! Or a light blue! Or stripped! Or spotted! But no, he's purple.

Sometimes I wonder how Hasbro picks these paint schemes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Rerelease, May 5, 2004

This review is from: Transformers Universe Silverbolt Figure (Toy)
This toy was originally part of the Beast Wars Fuzors line. The original paint scheme was much better then it's current purple color but it's charm remains the same. For fans of the series who aren't to picky this is a chance to get a charecter who hasn't seen shelve time for a while and and has been hard to find. "But your inner Maximal gooness will shine through" any concerns about getting this figure if oyu are not too picky. "TILL ALL ARE ONE!"

This is another re-issue in the Transformers line. Unlike other "fuzors", this robots animal mode is perfectly reasonable. Also has a very reasonable transformation. It is a robot with its own charm. Its better than almost all of the current ARMADA line.
