Better Than Expected.
This is a Transformers novel, leading up to "Revenge Of The Fallen". It is much better than the book or movie, "Revenge". It has no stupid jokes, like the movie and a bunch of cool characters, not in the movie. Then, all the good main characters are back as well. The plot is weird, but I don't mean bad. The only real flaw, is that I am not sure, how this actually ties in...

Good, but not great
This book could have been better, but as it stands, it's a suitable lead-in for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." There are familiar characters, such as Autobots Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Ironhide and humans Epps and Lennox as well as new characters and some others from the first movie, which are spoilerish, so I won't mention them here.

Good, but not great, May 3, 2009
This review is from: Transformers The Veiled Threat (Transformers (Ballantine Books)) (Mass Market Paperback)

The plot isn't great--the book could have used fewer humans and more Cybertronians as well as a little more backstory for how everyone ended up where the are. Hopefully the novelization of the movie, as well as the movie itself will help with this.
All in all, it was a decent read. As I said, not great.

Foster is cleaver with language but this story has very little imagination. The characters do the same thing over and over (fight).
