The first thing I noticed when I looked on the back of the box was that the graphics looked liked a piece of crap. So I thought. When I started playing the game though, they were actually really good. This game is really cool overall. The graphics and voice acting are awesome, you can have two characters at a time, there is some good solid gameplay, and there are tons of characters to unlock. There were just a few things I didn't like. For starters the campaign is pretty short. There are only eight levels in the campaign but there are thirty arena missions and four bonus missions (which is pretty much a shortened version of the autobot campaign. Another thing I didn't like was that there isn't any freeplay mode where you can just go around shooting like there is in the first game but i can keep myself busy. The only other thing I didn't like is that for the multiplayer, the other person has to have either the autobot or the decepticon version of the game and there is no wifi but that is okay because I don't mess with multiplayer that much. Overall I think there is a really good game and I would recommend this to anyone but if you wanted to wait till the price went down, I wouldn't argue.

If you have played Transformers games for the DS, other than War For Cybertron, than you will have noticed certain traits that create a pattern, that pattern is not a very flattering one. They have a tendency to have horrible graphics, a flimsy to non-existent plot, horrific voice acting, and bad gameplay, that usually consists of time trials near impossible to complete, running in circles shooting or hitting the enemy. The games are either so easy its boring or so hard its almost impossible. Usually the impossible comes from vehicle missions. That's other Transformers games. War for Cybertron is the exact opposite. The graphics are decent for a DS game. The gameplay is fun. The voice actors are very good. The plot is great. This game is more challenging than the Autobot version. All I can say is get this game. You can almost never "win" the game. There are many many characters to unlock, play as, level up, play different missions, and try different pairs. There are many missions to get 100% on. And dozens of data disks to unlock. It took me a month to win this game, while switching it out of my DS for it counterpart. Its great. Get it. You will not be disappointed.

If you are wanting to buy this game, you need to know some things. #1 - This is an original story. #2 - There is no Create A Bot mode. #3 - This game has a companion Autobots version, which is more fun and should be purchased with this game. That said, it's a good game but, if you only know Transformers from the movie series, you should watch the 80's cartoons before you buy it.

This was a real good game for the DS. It was a liitle too simple for the more experienced player. If you died you started from the last checkpoint in the level, which usually wasn't very far back. On the last boss if you died you would revive where you left off with the boss just as hurt as he was when you died.
If you're buying this for someone younger this would be a great game. If you are buying it to have something to play with that DS then it's still a great buy. If you want the best Transformers experience, then get the PS3, 360 or Wii version instead.

He enjoys playing it and has fun unlocking all the characters, graphics are pretty good and since he's been playing w/ it for over a month now I'd say it's well worth the cash.

Nevertheless, the game still gets 4 stars. The graphics are nice, the gameplay itself is nice, but there's one thing I don't like. Unlike the 2007 movie DS games, there is no Create-A-Bot feature, which is the equivalent of the fifth star.
