Reflective practice has been widely adopted as a successful method for developing nursing. Using critical self assessment, reflection can enable practitioners to critique, develop and monitor their professional practice and thereby improve their care of patients. This book brings together a wide range of international experience representing reflective practice from a number of different perspectives. The book is structured to enable the reader to engage in a meaningful dialogue with differing approaches and experiences of reflection as a developmental and research process. Each contribution follows a common format - defining how reflection is perceived, what area of practice is being focused on and what changes came about through this process of reflection and how was this recognised. The process of transformation is then discussed, concluding with the author's reflections. Students and practitioners alike will find this a valuable book for gaining considerable insight into the practice of reflection, to inform their own approaches to reflection and change.
