Editorial Reviews

Review

Too much of the debate over technology in education has been about whether it is needed. Andrew Zucker cogently makes the case for shifting our focus to how to use technology effectively. It is time to move beyond techno-cheerleading and focus on the educational leadership and vision it takes to use technology to transform learning. Finding that thoughtful balance is why every educator and policymaker should read Transforming Schools with Technology. --Keith R. Krueger, CEO, Consortium for School Networking

Transforming Schools with Technology shows how technology must be an integral part of any effort to redesign and improve schools. It emphasizes the importance of visionary leaders and how with the smart use of digital technologies necessary reforms can occur in our schools and classrooms. --Nancy Roche, Board Chair, Forsyth County Schools, Georgia

By Mr. G. K. White on July 17, 2008
Format: Paperback
This book was beautifully written, in an easy to read style, almost journalistic. It was deceptively well researched without being overbearing and the argument for transformation clearly articulated. Much of the text appears to be simple common sense but there is a deep philosophy and strong research base beneath the logic which is both refreshing and encouraging. So much information has been carefully and cleverly woven into a structured and compelling argument.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book although at the start I thought it seemed a bit lightweight on the research but I think that was more a reflection of me as the reader because it was simply written and beautifully expressed. The most profound works are such and I found Transforming Schools with Technology to be one also.
