What a wonderful way for children to express the feelings they are having with the things that are going on in their lives. This book is very well written and illustrated by a group of 8th grade students. The book expresses real life situations in an unique way. A very good read for all ages! Kudos to the teacher and students.

Book Review: Transitions

I just recently read the book Transitions. I really enjoyed the creativity and was astounded at the fact that it was written and illustrated by an eighth grade class. I liked the book because it had answers to real life situations and made you look on the bright side of your life. Also, it was broken into 7 different stories witch were all different so , many questions were answered. In the end I think that the book was fantastic and that the class did a great job. Read to find solutions if your life takes a scary, bumpy road and you will be brighter.

- Rowan, sixth grader

With engaging illustrations and imaginative stories, Transitions is a student-created collection of short stories that could stand its own next to professionally written literature. I was impressed with the talent of the student writing and the stylized drawings that accompany each story. The stories offer positive messages for other students about believing in yourself and dealing with life's changes. Teachers can read this book to their students or students can explore on their own. This is a great work that deserves a place in any classroom.

I love this book! It's amazing to see how talented some of these children are. These are eighth graders, and it blows me away. All the illustrations were hand drawn with the help of a local artist. It's great because almost anyone can relate to something depicted in this book. My nine year old cousin especially loves the story "Jungle Friends." She thinks it's very sweet and true.
