4.0 out of 5 stars Great book on RF Baluns & Transmission Lines
If you are new to Transmission Line Theory, RF Baluns in general, or just interested in higher frequency electronics, Jerry's book is a time tested classic reference material on the subject. This is the fourth edition, we have three of them in our workplace that are used to train new engineers and refresh old ones in the field of RF electronics.

1.0 out of 5 stars Contains no background material
Book contains no background material so much of it must be taken on faith.
Most of the book is dedicated to a particular design.
Phasing of windings is not even mentioned.
A total disappointment, it was returned

If you are new to Transmission Line Theory, RF Baluns in general, or just interested in higher frequency electronics, Jerry's book is a time tested classic reference material on the subject. This is the fourth edition, we have three of them in our workplace that are used to train new engineers and refresh old ones in the field of RF electronics.

Jerry's book probably has the highest degree of 'hand on' experience, which is what made it so usefull for our purposes. For those wanting more design level info on RF magnetics see Chris Bowick's "RF Circuit Design". If you need more basic, but more diverse info see Jon Hagen's "Radio Frequency Electronics", and if you are in need of some testing guidance you won't be dissapointed in Joseph Carr's book "Practical Radio Frequency Test & Measurement". Lastly, if you need some PCB layout advice, your money will be well spent on Tim William's book "The Circuit Designers Companion".

A book for both the student and professional engineer.
Many hundreds of man hours of compiled information that I have
found to be worth its weight in Gold for antenna matching.
