EXCERPT FROM THE INTRODUCTION
Transmission Meditation is a form of meditation which is also a transmission of energy. We would not be human beings if we did not knowingly or unknowingly act as transmitters of energy. If the human kingdom were for some reason or other removed from this planet, all the lower kingdoms--animal, vegetable and even mineral--would eventually die. They would no longer receive their quota of energy from the sun at a potency which they could absorb. This is because the human kingdom (as do all kingdoms) transmits energy, albeit in a unique fashion. Whether we know it or not, we are transmitters, a clearinghouse for energies received from the kingdoms above us. These energies are transformed by passing through us to the lower kingdoms. Each kingdom evolves as a result of the stimulus from the kingdom immediately above it. The physical form comes from below and the spiritual stimulus towards evolution from above.... Out of the human kingdom, whether humanity knows it or not, has grown and is growing the spiritual kingdom, the kingdom of souls, or, in Christian terminology, the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God... is not some blessed state which has to come down from heaven when humanity is good enough, developed enough, to receive it. It is something which, unknown to most of us, has always existed behind the scenes of our life. It is made up of the Masters and Initiates of the Wisdom, of that group of men and women who have gone ahead of us, evolved before us, and, in the case of the Masters, have come to the end of the evolutionary experience on this planet.

The Masters serve the plan of evolution of the human and subhuman kingdoms. They are the custodians of all the energies entering the planet. Powerful cosmic energies impinge upon this planet from everywhere in space. We know nothing about them and can do nothing with them since we do not have that science, but the Masters work with these energies, scientifically balancing them and sending them into the world to help humanity evolve. The Masters are the key figures in this process, working from behind the scenes through men and women, the initiates, the disciples, and aspirants in the world....

Humanity evolves through the correct absorption of the spiritual energies from the kingdom of souls. All change, on both an individual and a worldwide scale, is the result of our response to great spiritual forces. We do not see these energies for the most part, but nevertheless they are there. They work through us, and as we respond--by changing and creating new structures, making personal, communal, international decisions--we are responding to these energies...

The promise of this coming Age of Aquarius is that for the first time in recorded human history, humanity will become One and will demonstrate the Love of which unity is the expression. It will reflect on the physical plane the inner oneness of man--the fact that as souls we are One. There is no such thing as a separate soul. We are individualized parts of one great over-soul which is perfect, and which is a reflection of what we call God, of that Reality in which we "live and move and have our being"--the Logos of the planet....

The purpose of our evolutionary existence, then, is to manifest the soul's qualities on the physical plane, and so to spiritualize matter. Meditation provides a more-or-less scientific means, depending on the meditation, of contacting the soul and gradually becoming at-one with the soul, so that it can manifest clearly and potently on the physical plane. When we see such individuals, we perceive them as radiating meaning and purpose--for example, exceptionally creative artists, scientists, politicians, or educators. Such persons are quite obviously governed by a force altogether different from the norm. It is the energy of the soul which is pouring through them, making them the creative beings who enrich our culture and civilization. Transmission Meditation is the simplest method I know to accomplish this soul contact. Many meditations require that the individual master a powerful concentrated mental activity, which is more than most people can do...

In a Transmission group you simply let yourself be an instrument, while the energy is put through your chakras [energy centers] by the Masters. You act as a positive, poised, mental channel through which the energy is sent in a highly scientific manner. It is directed by Them, by Their thought, to where it is most useful and most needed. They are always looking for those who can consciously act as transmitters of Their energy in this way....

A huge network of light is being created by the Christ on the soul plane and it is growing all the time. Each Transmission group is linked into this network and a tremendous spiritual power radiates along it throughout the world.

Benjamin Creme. Center of a worldwide conspiracy of goodness. Accepting no remuneration, making no claims about his spiritual status. Specializing in Transmission Meditation where members of a group use their centers to step down energies coming from the Masters in order to provide a pool of energy useful for humanity. Colin Wilson says that Creme belongs to the same group as Blake, Blavatsky and Alice Bailey: "A man who sees things that other people do not see, and who tells us about it all." Pronto. In unminced words, clearly, and with a passionate amusement. "In the process of evolving back to the Spirit, we spiritualize the matter of our successive bodies, from the first incarnational experience to the last, leading to the resurrection experience which makes us the perfected Master. In that way we spiritualize the planet." ... This is a handbook of Transmission Meditation, with most of the book taken up with questions and answers, the most useful format in these times of involved new age terminologies and beliefs. Creme, now nearly 80 years old, received his first spiritual communication some forty years ago. He lectures widely across the world, participates in TV and radio interviews--and he's definitely an electric presence. Is there a correct way to sound the Great Invocation? Anyone who is serious about manifesting the God within, would be wise to get a copy of the book, study it, and join a Transmission Meditation group, or start a group if there are none in their area.

Like Mr. Creme's other books, this one is direct and to the point. It dispells many common misconceptions about meditation and explains the transmission process in great detail. Creme answers many excellent questions about this group meditation in simple English, in that typically good natured, no nonsense manner of his.

The book is essential reading for anyone interested in meditation, from the beginner to the more advanced students.

If you're looking for a meditation combined with a method of serving the world, then this is a 'must read'.

When I read a previous edition 5 years ago it immediately galvanised me to try this group meditation. The updated version is written in such a way that it is accessible to the general public and full of detailed information that answers many questions readers may have.

After 5 years of regular group meditations, I can vouchsafe this as a very effective yet simple meditation that helps the world and also has many personal benefits. In my case I went from being like 'a ship without a rudder', prone to mood swings and lacking confidence, to someone who is much more at peace, balanced, with vision, discipline and energy.

This is a very special book for me as it galvanised me to tread 'the spiritual path'...and I haven't looked back since!
