5.0 out of 5 stars "It's got the truth. It's got it all in under a minute.", October 21, 2001

Acumen Nation (formerly known just as Acumen) have put out some good albums, but this one is definitely the best. Theirs is a brand of angry and loud industrial-metal that I feel rivals even the established giants, like Ministry, KMFDM, and Nine Inch Nails. Loaded with samples from "Evil Dead II" and numerous gun references, "Transmissions From Eville" shows a direct, take-it-to-the-streets approach to their anger and disappointment with society that shows more of thier inner truth than many of their contemporaries.
In addition, if you enjoy Acumen Nation, you should check out Iron Lung Corp (their collaboration with members of The Clay People) and DJ? Acucrack (this one has a techno bent, though, that may not appeal to Acumen Nation fans, but is still worth hearing just to know another side to their music).

4.0 out of 5 stars Sequel to Mind is a terrible thing to taste?, July 30, 1999

Wow...what a CD. If you like Ministry and the countless bands that have copied them since 1989...then you must buy this. Actually buy all of Acumen(nation)'s albums they are all quite good. The highlight of the album is "gunlover", maybe the most memorable industrial tune since ministry's "thieves". I dont know what else to say really just buy it! buy buy buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome old-school industrial from Chicago, June 12, 2005

This is Acumen(Nation)'s best album next to Territory=Universe. If you like industrial with horror movie samples, buzzsaw guitars, and tribal, pounding drums then this album is for you. Songs like Matador and Gun Lover make me want to go into a frenzy. If you are a fan of Burn-era Nine Inch Nails and Ministry you will surely dig this. All the songs are good and worth repeated listens. They even recorded this at Chicago Trax, where many Wax Trax bands like KMFDM and early Ministry albums were recorded. Bottom line, if you like guitar-driven industrial with dark synths, and eville vocals then this is totally a must! Also get More Human Heart and Territory=Universe. Avoid 5th Column and Lord of the Cynics...they are mediocre. Check out Iron Lung Corporation; they are an Acumen(Nation) side-project / members from Clay People. Awesome stuff
