I bought this transmitter along with the new iPod touch (16 gb) so I could listen to music in my car. It works great and has a USB port and a dual male connector cord so it is compatible with basically any mp3 player. Also, you can use any frequency which guarantees at least one will come through clear. On top of this, the case actually fits the new iPod (Note: The volume button is covered, but still able to be pressed since it is a silicone case). Overall this is a great product, and for the price it is a steal and can't be beat. I would recommend to anyone that is looking for an FM transmitter for their car.

This product does work but if you have an automatic scan FM radio (i.e. no manual control) then the radio will continue to seek a channel until it finds something. This means you will always stop on a station of some sort even tho it may be faint. This unit will overcome a very weak signal but as the signal strength increases (e.g. driving under power lines) then you get loads of static over the music. So this is not like listening to a CD, rather like a weak FM station with music coming and going periodically. I also seem to notice that the bass seems less evident through this unit. Also the placement in my car means I bump it frequently shifting which is not a fault of the unit. Better than nothing but not entirely satisfactory either.

The concept of the way this product was supposed to work sounded great. However, how it actually performed was terrible. The bending arm was great to get the angle you wanted, but it does not hold well so any bump you hit causes your iPod to go flying. Also, the gripping concept instead of a cradle for your iPod sounded great to accommodate all kinds of iPods and even cases. But, in actuality it was not large enough to grip my iPod Touch with a thin case on it and it didn't hold just my iPod without a case that well. Finally, the connection was poor. For no apparent reason the connection would go out and the volume would be coming out of the iPod speakers instead of the car stereo. It would take several disconnect / reconnections to get the volume right again.
Also, there was supposed to be an iPod Touch case included in the package I ordered but there was not.

i love the adapter, it works great for the price. sometimes the ipod slips down out of the grasp, but you just have tilt the neck back. also, you need to find a good station that does not come in within the range of the car for the receiver to work. overall, i love the product and am happy to be able to listen to my ipod in the car for such a cheap price.

This would have been great if the sound quality was better. I was so excited to get it but when it arrived and I plugged it in I was a bit annoyed. I had to hold the power button for it to power up instead of just pressing it. Even when everything was connected and on the same frequency I could not hear it. I had to turn the volume up very high and even then, I couldn't hear it properly and it had static. When I unplugged it the radio was then very high. It was like that for my Chrysler and my husband's Honda. It is a bit bulky and the cord gets obstructed. The arms slide off the ipod touch a bit too easily but I like the convenience of moving it. However, the case it came with was great and of decent quality, I love it but I don't even use the transmitter anymore. It was an okay value for the price paid about $10 total.

Did not care for this transmitter. It won't charge 4th generation ipods, so Ipod battery is drained. Also inadequate shipping was on the package. I don't recommend this product if you want it to charge too. It plays the songs well though

I was disappointed with the quality of this product. The transmission over the radio frequencies has a lot of static. I would recommend trying this product out before you buy it (in a store).

My first issue with an Amazon product! I purchased this Ipod FM Transmitter for my 99 CLK 320. No mention in the literature that it doesn't fit all cars. The power adaptor does not reach my recessed lighter outlet in the center console! It was a great price and packaged in plastic that can only be destroyed to open. I decide to modify my unit. I was able to install a 6 inch extension cable between the unit and lighter end. It now works perfectly in the Benz. Actually, other than the power snafu this unit works very well. The FM stays locked on station and the sound quality is excellent.

I purchased this product in May of 2008 and it worked pretty well (with a little static, on occasion) until February of 2009 when the transmitter stopped working. It still charges my Ipod, but what's the point of that if I can't listen to it in my car?
