I'm pretty new to the Ipod world, so I don't have much of a basis for comparison. However, this product has met my needs for a device that would play my Ipod through the car's stereo system while recharging the battery.

In researching for a car adapter, I saw that many people said that you should avoid an FM transmitter and go with a device that uses the AUX outlet (if you have one). Of course an AUX outlet doesn't recharge the Ipod battery so you'd have to go with a separate battery charger and adapter combo. Another advantage of an FM transmitter is that you can use it in a more basic car without an AUX outlet.

At first the transmitter picked up a lot of static from the recommended frequency. I could see how someone living in a metro area (and I live in the suburbs of the NY tristate area) could have trouble finding a static free frequency. Luckily I was able to find a better frequency and the sound for the most part has been quite good. However, I still occasionally have to reset the frequency when traveling a distance and there are some (thankfully small) zones where there's always a bit of static.

Otherwise, I'm very happy with this product.

I ordered this FM transmitter to charge my iPhone 3G and play songs from the iPod section. It works wonderfully for both charging and playing music. I set the FM station at 107.3 both in my car and on the transmitter which is a blank station in my area and the sound is perfect.

I like it for playing my itunes songs. The sound is great once you find an empty station. It works well to charge the phone. The cord is very short and doesn't have much 'spring' to it. I mean it is very short!!!! I can't have it plugged in and look for my favorite song on the phone.

I use my iPod Nano for listening to books, and only books. I needed something for my car that was easy, worry-free and efficient. This is it! I don't have to worry about charging my iPod separately, nor do I have to worry about batteries! This handy gadget plugs in, the screen lights up showing the station it needs, my iPod turns on and I'm ready to go! Yes, maybe the cord is short, but I, for one, am glad - it doesn't get hung up and stays ungnarled. The sound coming through my speakers is great! It may fade a bit in some areas around high wires, but rarely on the open road, and that includes in the middle of nowhere! Make sure the connector is securely screwed in to the device. A great find at a reasonable price!

I bought one for my wife and one for myself. Both are filled with static and you have to crank up the volume to hear anything. Not "high quality digital sound" by any stretch of the imagination.

After about 2 weeks mine started shorting out to the point it will no longer charge or transmit sound.

Compared with Monster's iCarplay, this transmitter is really inferior. The bass quality is lacking and the static interference is very noticeable. The iCarplay is pricer, but you get a lot better product.

Really glad I purchased this. Definitely beats the products in best buy. I wish the cord was longer and that it would charge the battery fast though. Using an iPod Nano and an iPhone 3G.

I have an old 4-runner and having the luxury of the auxiliary port was not available in my car. So I found this device and must say that I am very happy with it. Didn't have any problems with getting a connection and since I live in a mountain town in CO, I thought I would have problems in this area. Boy was I surprised when I started playing my music. Nice and clear through the stereos. I don't have any problems with the length of the cord and I'm able to search through my ipod without any difficulty. Now I'm glad that I have this device that plays the music AND charges my ipod. So I guess I'm not upset anymore that I didn't have an auxiliary port like the new cars do. I have recommended this device to all my friends with the auxiliary ports also. a really nice compact device..

I just bought 2 of these about 2 weeks ago for my fiance and myself. For the price I love the product. This is the first transmitter I have owned for my iPod Classic and am impressed. I tune my stereo to 87.7 and there is static on that channel in Denver, CO but when you turn on the device it almost goes away and then the music starts. I listen to mostly hip hop and just love this, no more carrying around the HUGE CD case.

The only bad thing is that you have to turn the volume up a bit higher on your stereo to hear it, but I imagine most of them are like that. Just need to remember to turn it down. I also like that you can turn the device off w/out unplugging it, easier to use and never have to move it.

I recommend this product, although the white is ugly in my tan interior car...!

This device works and I'm happy with it.

I tried a cassette adapter and the sound quality was bad. It sounded like a bad AM radio station. When I got this one, I was nervous because it's about $25 cheaper than the cheapest model at Best Buy. So I had low expectations. But I plugged it in and it worked fine.

I agree with another review in that the cord is too short. Also, I can't read the display when this adapter is plugged in to my car. The cigarette lighter in my car has a cover that flips up. This cover makes it nearly impossible to read the display. However, now that I've found a radio station that works (which happened to be the first radio station I tried), then I really don't need to read the display. I just plug it in, press Play on my iPod, and I'm good to go.

I haven't traveled with this device yet. If I do and need to change the station on the adapter in order to get rid of static, then it will be a headache because of the display issue mentioned above.

If the cigarette cover in my car flipped open to the side (as opposed to the top), then there is no display issue. So you may not have this same issue in your vehicle.

Overall, I'm definitely happy with this purchase, especially considering the price.
