4.0 out of 5 stars cheap but it works!
I used this product on my nano during a roadtrip from Colorado to Texas. The product works! You might need to adjust the frequency a few times coz some areas can pick up radio station signals but overall a great product for such a cheap price.

I had been looking for an affordable and reliable iPod FM Transmitter for my car stereo for quite some time. Would this be the one to solve my lack of hearing my iPod tunes in my car? Well... yes and no.

I wound up buying this item three times. And only one out of the three that I bought worked. Amazingly enough the first one I ever bought was the one that worked and still does to this day. But that's not to say it wasn't without it's trouble. The connection into the ligher port in the car can be a little sketchy at times. Almost having to be twisted and turned in to fit properly before it will work right and sometimes popping out when the car would go over some bumps. Besides that though I really haven't had any problems with it. It is easy to set to the station with a switch on the top of it and the sound is pretty clear for the most part.

The real issues came when I had to buy another one as my brother wanted one too. The second one I bought worked for one day and then never worked again. There was no signs that it was broken and nothing was done to break it, it just didn't even activate once it was plugged in. I tried it in my car and his and same problem. I had to send it back for a refund. Then my friend wanted an affordable iPod transmitter as well and got him this one as well and the one he got didn't work at all from the moment he got it and I wound up returning it as well.

While I got very lucky with the one I got, I have heard others who bought this transmitter and had very little luck with it. Its a crap shoot either way if you are going to take a chance on this.

My advice would be to only get this if you don't mind taking a chance on this item and if you are on a very limited budget. Two out of Three I have bought didn't work but the one that did work has been a great and affordable device that really makes traveling in my car a joy now. If you aren't the gambling type and have a little more to spend I would recommend getting one of the Transmitters that is closer to the $20-30 range as those seem to be better built and you won't have to worry about treating your device like it was made of egg shells in the worry that it will break. The plastic on this one is cheap feeling and if you are going to take it out every time you leave your car even more reason to worry.

So its really up to you if you want to take the chance that this device will work and for a long time and you are on a tight budget I say give it a shot. If it does work it works great and you won't be sorry getting one. But if you have a few more bucks to spend and don't want to deal with a cheaply built device that may not work or will only for a short period of time I would say avoid this one and get one of the better ones.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!, January 5, 2009

I bought this for my sister for Christmas and it only worked correctly one time. Eforcity refuses to replace it now, because they only have a 30-day return policy, and their customer service was awful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, July 10, 2007

I know FM transmitters aren't the greatest things in the world, but this one was a literal piece of junk. I had to switch the stations every 30 seconds. I had an even more cheap and simple one before it that worked great (brother lost it, or broke it, I'm not sure). Maybe it's worked okay for some but I've never seen a worse product.
