4.0 out of 5 stars Best charger & transmitter I've used so far
This product is great, you just have to make sure its 100% secure and pushed into your iPod, otherwise you will get a buzzing sound.

My only complaint is that i wish it could be powered by the iPod, because it needs to be plugged in at all times, and the cord on it is fairly short, about a foot or less, so handing people the iPod in the backseat is out of the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked well...while it worked
This product worked well for me for about 3 weeks - maybe 8 times overall. Then it stopped powering on. It still charges the iPhone but is useless for sending audio to the car stereo. The plastic shell and buttons have a cheap (not-quality) feel to them. The cord is rather short - it barely reaches from the lower dash to the edge of the car seat. I'll be looking for...

This product is great, you just have to make sure its 100% secure and pushed into your iPod, otherwise you will get a buzzing sound.

My only complaint is that i wish it could be powered by the iPod, because it needs to be plugged in at all times, and the cord on it is fairly short, about a foot or less, so handing people the iPod in the backseat is out of the question.

My other transmitter broke, and was very flimsy, This one is VERY solid and is very functional.... and has more channels than I've ever seen on a transmitter, I think it goes down to 87.1 or (77.1) I forget, (not going out to my car to check, its 10 degrees out).

I highly recommend this product if you want a cheap sturdy transmitter, if you want a mobile transmitter powered by your iPod, not the car... look elsewhere...

4 out of 5 stars from me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect, February 8, 2009
This review is from: FM Transmitter and Car Charger with LCD Screen for Apple iPod/iPhone 3G/iTouch 2nd Generation/Nano 4th Generation (Electronics)
Overall this is a very good product. I was very impressed with it, especially considering how affordable it is. This transmitter looks more expensive than its price would suggest. The digital controls makes tuning very easy. If it wasn't for a noticeable distortion when listening to certain female vocals I would have given it 5 stars. But overall I am still very pleased with this transmitter. Below are my pros and cons.

Positive:
1. Well made and looks good
2. Charges 4th generation iPOD Nano - a big plus
3. Digital tuning allow easy selection of FM channel

Negative:
1. The signal is weak. It's easy for stray signals to interfere with this transmitter
2. Transmitted volume is softer than radio stations even with iPOD volume near maximum
3. Noticeable distortion when listening to female vocals

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great, February 22, 2009

I have owned the Monster iCar Play iPod FM transmitter (http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCarPlay-Wireless-Transmitter-Charger/dp/B00019068G) for about three years. I paid $[...] and it worked about as well as an FM transmitter could, it gave me decent (slightly less than radio quality) sound and very little interference.

I bought an iPod Touch 2nd gen this past fall, and my old FM transmitter does not charge it, only transmits the sound to the radio. I wanted to replace it so I could make sure my iPod is always charged when I use it in the car, so I bought this one.

Cons: The audio transmitted is slightly less quality than my old one, but enough to be noticeable. Also, the cord seems way too short, my old one was longer and was noticeably easier to use.

Pros: I can now charge my iPod while using it in the car, it cost about 1/3 as much as my old one. Although it doesn't seem to affect the signal quality much, you can choose a MUCH wider station range with this than I could with my Monster iCar Play.

Overall: I love the fact that I can charge my iPod in the car again, and I love the fact that this was less than $25 shipped. Since FM transmitters are a real gamble most of the time (a lot of times it depends on the car), I'll give this item the benefit of the doubt and give it 4 stars since it was so cheap. If you have the extra money, maybe look for something a little better but if you just want your music in the car, this one won't give you much hassle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Sound Quality, March 3, 2009

I bought this thinking it would be a great solution for my ipod and I could easily transfer it from vehicle to vehicle. Very easy to plug in and use however I receive a bad crackle in both my 02 Tahoe and 05 Accord. I tried using multiple stations with no luck. I do not recommend this product unless you don't mind listening to static radio.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for me!, January 8, 2009
This review is from: FM Transmitter and Car Charger with LCD Screen for Apple iPod/iPhone 3G/iTouch 2nd Generation/Nano 4th Generation (Electronics)
I got this transmitter a couple weeks ago and really like it! I previously used the iTrip (about $75 or $80). I had static almost all the time and often had to reset stations even in my own hometown. With this transmitter, I plugged it in, found a station, and have had clear audio ever since. I mostly use it to listen to books, so I don't know about the problem with bass as one writer noted. I have recommended it to several friends. In my opinion, you can't beat it, even with the more expensive transmitters!

I have used this for about a week now. It has done all I expected it to do and a little more. It has great power and is very easy to use. At this price it is hard to go wrong.

The charging feature stopped working two months after I received this device, having only used it 5-6 times. The transmitter still works, but the iphone power is eaten up quickly without the charge feature. The distortion/feedback from the transmitter is noticable depending on the type of music, and whether there is interference from nearby stations.
Overall, would not purchase again.

5.0 out of 5 stars most bang for the buck iphone car adapter, May 4, 2009

Tried the griffin charger and adapter for iphone 3g and all I got was a lot static. Returned it to bestbuy in three days and ordered this one from amazon. This costs less than half and works like a charm. The clarity is very good though the volume could be better. There is barely any hiss or static that is usual for an fm transmitters. The really cool part is, it seems to work well regardless of which fm channel I choose. For the price, hard to ask for anything more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plays clearly and charges my nano..., April 5, 2009

This review is from: FM Transmitter and Car Charger with LCD Screen for Apple iPod/iPhone 3G/iTouch 2nd Generation/Nano 4th Generation (Electronics)
Pros: Strong signal (works well with my (stock) Honda radio); charges my iPod nano while driving (and my iPhone, if I need to charge it up; digital tuner lets you pick the exact frequency you want, and remembers which one you last used...

Cons: Large size (but this also makes it easy to read and adjust), blue LED is so 2005...
