TRANSNATIONAL MANAGEMENT focuses on the management challenges associated with developing strategies and managing the operations of companies whose activities stretch across national boundaries. The purpose of this book is to provide a conceptual framework of the interplay between the multinational corporation, the countries in which it does business, and the competitive environment in which it operates. Through text narrative, cases, and readings, the authors skillfully examine the development of strategy, organizational capabilities, and management challenges for operating in the global economy.

I had to get this book for an international competitive strategy course I took for my MBA. The course was really good. The text is a little dry, but the supplemental readings are actually quite good. The Case studies are excellent. That was the best part about this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Transnational Mgtmt, September 27, 2007
This review is from: Transnational Management: Text, Cases & Readings in Cross-Border Management (Hardcover)
The book was helpful in getting through my class because it was a requirement. The book had more cases and readings than actual theory. Which is good because you almost always get theory and less examples. The print is kind of small.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Case Studies and Supplemental Materials, March 13, 2011
By
I am using this book at Northwood University in our International Business course this year (upper division undergraduate / graduate level). The HBR cases are excellent and I was able to also provide my students with the videos accompanying the selected cases we used. The interview quality of the case videos are acceptable, the interviews themselves are exceptional.
