This album was one of the first I bought as a teenager. And even then, the record was ten years old. I had heard Ely Cathedral on a Hearts of Space program (#355 for those who care). I was all of fourteen and trying to track down this record. And I loved the rest of it, too. Ely Cathedral still has an incredible hold on my imagination. The whole album evokes a sense of wonderment that is simultaneously familiar and surreal.

What astounds me is that this record is not well-known. It should be.
