Editorial Reviews

Review
"Transplants is so beautiful that it is almost unreal...this is the cd you dream of for years." --Rootstime

Product Description
The debut release from The Comforters is the warm and inviting "Transplants", a collection of songs that evokes the rich story telling and pop sensibilites of artists like Aimee Mann and The Cowboy Junkies

The melodies on this beautiful disc are tranquil and calm, while the lyrics reveal an unsettling dead-calm that is the backdrop to affairs, depression, heartbreak and alienation.

Pia's dreamy, delicate and haunting vocals paired with Jason's acoustic and electric guitars make for a perfect cd on a rainy day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lazy Sundays, September 23, 2007
I bought this disc after seeing The Comforters play live one night in an intimate coffeehouse in town and I was so struck by the beautiful and "comforting" music they make together.

The album does not disappoint. It is gorgeous and gentle, tender and very melodic. It's filled with folk and Americana instrumentations (acoustic guitar, pedal steel and organ, harmonica) and delicate acoustic pop tunes that are mellow and sweet but at the same time earthy and haunting.
The vocals are absolutely beautiful - delicate but warm.

A great find and a great CD to listen to on a lazy Sunday.
