Actually, the song on the commercial IS "The Slam" by Tobymac. I just saw the commercial and came to see if it was on the soundtrack. Unfortuneately its not. But i just thought i'd let you know, that it is Tobymac not POD even though it kinda sounds like POD, the part in the commercial says..."this is the SLAM this is the one..." so there ya go

Disappointing,

First, the positive aspects of this soundtrack. Unlike the first Transporter soundtrack, for the second movie there is only one, not two separate soundtracks (a "music inspired by" and the original soundtrack) and results in less frustration. Unlike the first soundtrack ("music inspired by", the only one sold in the US), this one actually contains some of the score that the composer used in the movie and isn't all hip-hop. Most of whom bought the original "music inspired by" soundtrack for The Transporter felt highly disappointed because they thought it contained the score, which it didn't and had little to do with the feel of the movie. You can only get the original soundtrack for The Tranporter online (it isn't sold here in the States).
Secondly, the cons. The sequel differed dramatically from the original in terms of overall style and feel. This was carried over to the soundtrack. Unlike the score by Stanley Clarke that sounded like a James Bond movie and the fantastic beats by DJ Pone & Drixxxe found in the first movie's soundtrack, the sequel's soundtrack is less instrumental when compared with the original, and there is only one DJ track with lyrics. The Transporter 2 soundtrack instead has more rock like tracks (pardon me if it isn't exactly rock or hip-hop, I find the neverending classifications of music nowadays to be overly complicated). You should also know that 3 of the songs in the Transporter 2's soundtrack was played during the credits, which felt irrelevant. Watch the original movie, and Nadia's "Life of a Stranger" fits in with the movie perfectly at the end, unlike the sequel's, which felt like it couldn't wait for the movie to be over with. To all those who have played the PC game "No One Lives Forever", there are snippets of the score in the sequel that reminded me of the game. In conclusion, I was very disappointed at not only the soundtrack but the movie as well when measured against the original. There are a few good tracks on the CD, but it isn't worth buying the CD just for those few good tracks. Very few of the tracks can be thought of as good driving music. Watch the original movie and listen to the original score; the music there is actually good for driving. FYI: The music that you hear in movies are usually mixed. Therefore when you buy the soundtrack, it may not sound exactly as it did in the movie. Also a movie's soundtrack doesn't contain 100% of the music heard in the movie. In this movie, there is a track called "Ready for War, Read for Whut?" that isn't in the soundtrack. There is at least one terrific track in the original movie that's perfect for driving but it isn't on any of the soundtracks.

One of the most satisfying soundtracks I own. It's great for driving and working out! If you like the Transporter series, and you like hard-rock music with a bit of alternative and techo flavour, then you should love the Transporter 2 soundtrack.

Can't find a song from movie,
This review is from: Transporter 2 (Audio CD)
I am looking for the orchestral song when he is on the chase on the highway above water. It definitely has a signature sound to it and I may have heard it before? It only plays for a little bit and I cannot seem to find it! Other than that, this disc has about 2 other songs that are good to me.

Little-known songs,

The CD has songs that do not appear in the movie ... and those that appear are very short. I would have liked the instrumental music was more extensive.

Azaria scores a big one,

To me, the best part of this soundtrack is the orchestral cues by Azaria. This is the most exciting scoring I have heard since John Barry went into retirement.
Without question, Azaria should score the next Bond film.

Not as good as the first movie's soundtrack,
By
This review is from: Transporter 2 (Audio CD)
First off, no, the song in the trailers is not on this album. The album, however, isn't a total waste. I'd say slightly more than half the tracks are pretty good. My personal fav is Kate Nauta's song. That girl not only kicks butt in the movie, but she can rock! \m/
Whereas the first movie's album, however, is full of good jams, this one is burdened by the instrumental tracks. The formula they used for the first album worked well and they should've stuck to it. And the song in the trailers should have been included on the soundtrack.
