5.0 out of 5 stars Great chair
We love this chair. The side panels are a big help in keeping an oxygen tank from rolling out. The leg rest strap is also a plus that many chairs we looked at did not have. We paid a little more for this chair but it was well worth it.

Recently I purchased a Medline rolling walker from Amazon and was amazed at the quality of the merchandise and the value represented by its price. This week I needed to purchase a wheelchair and I mistook "MedMobile" for "Medline", the largest supplier of wheelchairs to hospitals. The vendor is listed as "Good Deal Hunting" but as you check out of Amazon the vendor changes to "Prestige International Trading". That should have been a clue. When we received the item it had been shipped from "A-Wholesale" in Miami Gardens, FL and had been imported from China.

I probably got my money's worth but this wheelchair is no bargain. It is more crudely made than the Medline product. I do not know how reliable it will be over the long run. If someone were going to live in the wheelchair, I would suggest you invest in a better product.

i bought this for a lady in 90's that lives in a house with narrow doors this is a nice chair easy to get around the house esp with the smaller wheeels and it has a pouch on back very well made for the price

the chair i bought doesnt have the large wheels it has smaller wheels on back not the kind you can roll yourself good for someone that can be pushed around or to take in the car

At first I was a little concerned because of the inconsistent reviews people were giving, some not even describing the actual product pictured.

This wheelchair came to me out of the box folded and ready to go. It is exactly as pictured (plaid cloth padding, black coated metal with swing-away foot rests) and good quality for the price, sturdy. I bought this for an Iraqi family whose five year old daughter suffered a lost leg through an IED explosion. It is a petite chair at 16" but it looks like she'll fit into it just right and be able to grow into for several years. I sat in it myself and I'm a 5'7" woman and could sit comfortably. I also bought the 'Duro-Med Comfort Pillow Cushion with Six Ties, Navy' from Amazon to provide her comfort and it goes perfectly with the chair. Thank you Giga Dollar :)

Needed a wheelchair ASAP for elderly grandparents. Needed to be light and easy to use. Grandpa says it's just that. Grandma says it's attractive. Most importantly, I paid $75 for urgent shipping, it made it there in 5 days (I think it was promised in 3-5 business days). Not sure whether it would have taken the same amount of time w/out the extra delivery fee, but pleased all the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars The picture/product changed!, May 9, 2008

The model I purchased was much different than the one currently pictured! Mine has elevating leg rests, removable desk arms, and came with a cane. The one pictured as of this writing has swing away legrests and fixed armrests.

It's almost identical to this product:

Deluxe Adult Lightweight E&J Wheelchair With Elevating Legrests - Free Shipping!

Overall, I'm satisfied with the product I have. I can't comment on the one currently being sold, but it seems like a pretty standard chair.

Things to be aware of:
-if you want smaller front wheels you will have to replace the entire bearing (metal part around it), which I'm confused by, lol.
-it is best used indoors, unless you change to better tires (usually cheap).
-You can't find the brand of it anywhere, but I think it's similar to Everest and Jenning's.
-It's HEAVY, but that's a given considering it's not lightweight.

However:
-it shipped and arrived VERY quickly, despite being heavy!
-the leather seat is a plus, very nice.
-the back wheels could easily be upgraded to lighter, spoked wheels for around $200, as the frame is very sturdy.

Bottom line: It's a fine wheelchair, and if you're mostly concerned with a frame it seems sturdy. However, if you're looking for cheap/best value for your dollar, you might check ebay.
