This film should be a major classic and it isn't. Burt Lancaster plays a hard-bitten older trapeze catcher and Tony Curtis plays the young "flyer". The two team up at a circus. After months of practice, their goal is to be the very first team to do "A Triple". This is when the "flyer" (Curtis) attempts a triple turn in the air and connect perfectly with the catcher. This feat had never been done and was the Holy Grail for all trapeze artists at the time. The tension is unbelievable. I won't ruin the ending. But here is a cool fact about Burt Lancaster: In real life, he used to be a trapeze artist and was the catcher. I saw this movie 25 or so years ago and it still holds up. That's the sign of a great movie in my book.

DVD has high quality, visual and audio. Romance, drama, high tension, and great trapeze action. Burt Lancaster, an injured trapeze flyer who failed to complete the triple, is asked by a young upstart, Tony Curtis, to work with him making Lancaster the catcher on the Trapeze. Lancaster works with Curtis with Lancaster teachintg him to try the triple. But their rivalry over Gina Lolabridgida causes friction.
The movie climaxes with the two trying the triple and the tension rises as who will get the woman.
Hard to find DVD and is unavailable in the stores. DVD is worth the purchse money.

This is one of my top 10 favorite movies. Burt & Tony do a lot of the actual trapeze work without stunt players. By the way, Tony Curtis's real nanme is Bernie Schwartz. Bernie...just like me. And Jamie Lee Curtis is his daughter. Anyway...this is indeed a great movie. Not just for the movie, but the music soundtrack is just as impressive. Yeah...you can say "it's just a circus band" but the music is beautiful. You can't go wrong with this movie. Enjoy!!

I was not expecting to have chinese subtitles on the screen, want to return but gave dvd as a present to family member. Did I miss something when I ordered about having chinese subtitles?

Nostalgia, lovely to see the movie stars that were so popular when I was young and collected movie stars pictures

I sent it as a gift--I assume it arrived on time--and was in good condition.

I was quite disappointed to find that the DVD of Trapeze which I ordered had Korean subtitles. I have not opened and played the DVD because it is a gift, but I will try to find one to give which does not have this unwanted addition. I wish I had read something in the original description that stated this DVD had subtitles. Darn.
