About the book:  "Her lover's soul is at stake . . . She has vowed to change his fate."
Tristan is trapped in a grotesque stone form on Notre Dame Cathedral's Galley of Chimeras for 364 days a year, only to be freed on the 365th. He has only one night to breathe again, regain his human shape, and find a replacement for himself from the busy night-time streets of Paris. But there are obstacles - some of them his dark neighbors on that rooftop. Some are worse than that. And then there is Izzy, the woman he loves, and who has stood beside him, awaiting his very few hours of freedom.

Will Tristan make it this year? How many times has he failed? Time has stood still for Tristan, but how long will his lover wait for him, confusing both sides of the Afterlife in what is actually a masterminded battle for his soul . . . and hers?

"Trapped in Stone" is book 1 in my Dark vs Light series of novels and novellas, and inspired by a trip to that very spooky famous gallery high above Paris, where I was sure those gargoyles whispered to me . . .

Book 2 in the series comes out in November 2013 - a quirky novella titled "Hot Holiday."

I hope you'll enjoy both!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating premise plus very interesting characters September 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The latest story by the talented Linda Thomas-Sundstrom is an urban fantasy tale filled with intriguing situations and features a couple with extremely unusual lives. The author calls her new series Dark vs. Light, and this is certainly a fitting name as the focus of the story is on whether those with evil intentions will prevail or if anyone who is trying to do right can finally succeed. Plenty of action makes for exhilarating scenes, and the uncertainty of numerous outcomes makes the incidents even more riveting. TRAPPED IN STONE is roller-coaster ride of emotional highs and lows.

When Izzy returns to Notre Dame Cathedral again, she wonders if this time will have a different ending or everything will turn out the same as it has in years past. She knows Tristan will be there, not in human form at first, and she wishes that there would be some way to change what will more than likely happen by morning. There is a game being played between Good and Evil powers, and Tristan is unfortunately caught in the middle. Izzy does not ever plan to give up on helping him out of his dire predicament, regardless of how long it takes, because he is the only man for whom she truly cares.

After she gets to the top of the Notre Dame Cathedral, it does not take long before there is an awareness of the night feeling much different than on previous visits. If something has changed, she wonders if how the evening concludes will also be altered.

The earlier paranormal releases by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom have always contained various supernatural beings, but those in TRAPPED IN STONE are especially creative. With their own distinct personal traits, the main couple becomes more notable with each new fact learned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gargoyles are hot! September 8, 2013
By VWZ
Format:Kindle Edition
Linda has crafted a wonderful novel full of myth, magic and love. Tristan traded his soul for the one he loves and is now bound to the roof of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Sucked into a game between Heaven and Hell, the only way to escape, is to find someone else to take his place. Awake only one night a year, he has limited time to find someone.

Trapped In Stone's setting and characters are masterfully crafted and make you feel like you are really there with them. I truly wanted Tristan to get out of his plight and be with his love, Izzy. It is a great battle between good and evil, heaven and hell and makes you look at things in a different way.

I don't think I will ever look at a gargoyle the same again, or want to go by a building with them at night. The description of what it feels like to be in the gargoyle state actually made me feel claustrophobic. I've never read gargoyles before, but if this is how they are supposed to be, I'll definitely be reading more in the near future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action! in the City of Light September 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an action-packed story that takes place high above the Paris streets, where Good and Evil have been warring for decades. One poor man is in the middle of all this, and his soul is on the line. The woman who loves him isn't faring much better, and has done something drastic in order to remain by his side. The way it works out is the kicker, and it's a really interesting race to the finish. It's fast-paced story-telling by Thomas-Sundstrom, and wonderfully creative.

5.0 out of 5 stars I ABSOLUTELY loved Trapped in Stone September 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So, I'm a hopeless romantic and Linda Thomas-Sundstrom's provocative stories always seem to take me to that edge. Her newest novel Trapped in Stone is no exception. It has all the twists, turns, mystery, drama, and of course the romance that you always get from her work, but this one really takes the cake. This is a very different body of work than her usual genre of vampires and werewolves (which I highly encourage you to read as well), so this story for me came as a pleasant surprise! I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll just let you read all the scintillating details to yourself. This chic tale is going to be at the top of your "guilty pleasures" list. It made me feel like I was in Paris with all the dark/brooding details of romance that you are always afraid to admit that you want! I can't wait until the other two stories for her Dark vs. Light series come out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Midnight in Paris September 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
My special and signed copy of "Cafe Heaven" sat on my shelf powerless like a gargoyle, waiting to be joined by a companion in good and evil, light and dark. The author has an outrageous imagination; don't miss the trip. Every trip she conjures I want to take. but I tired of waiting for her to get back to the way she highlighted the struggle between good/evil in her first novel. She has topped it here--all those years of technique, but the integrity/intensity of the story teller is what really attracts. She's a damn good writer. What I wouldn't give to rummage through her mind. Maybe I'd be a little scared and a lot awed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Power of Hope September 7, 2013
By Andrina
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Linda Thomas-Sundstrom's "Trapped in Stone" is not only a game between good and evil but a reminder to all of us about the power of hope. In this novella Linda Thomas-Sundstrom keeps readers on the edge of their seats as they experience a roller coaster ride of emotions -- hope, passion, persuasion, sacrifice, and suspense. At the same time there is a thick vein of sly, black humor as you begin to realize things aren't exactly what they appear to be. The twist at the end is completely unexpected (and impossible to predict). This novella keeps you turning the pages!
