These traps catch everything spiders and bugs!!

The glue is super super sticky, when setting one up one of the flaps accidently folded over the glue and I couldn't get it back up again so I had to discard one.

These traps work well when placed in strategic spots (under beds, in corners under or behind furniture, under sinks, in closets, etc).

We moved into a new house in Fayetteville TN, and within 5 months, our 21 year old daughter was bitten by a Brown recluse. She reacted with a golf ball sized black circle of dead tissue that turned to ooze over the next 2 months. It has left a nasty scar and may require a tissue graft. The cost ran well over 1000$ even before counting future grafts. It was the worst pain she has ever felt as the tissue slowly died and turned to jelly.

It was really terrifying as she ran a fever and threw up which is somewhat rare and a pretty heavy reaction. Our younger daughter reacts even worse to insect bites so we were/are very worried. I am an engineer so I did significant methodical web research and settled on these traps. We set out 10 or so of these traps downstairs. Over the next month we caught 9 recluses (as well as 30 other assorted bugs). Sadly - we have been catching 2 to 1 harmless wolf spiders over recluses (edit: One of the other reviewers said wolf spiders do bite - go figure).

These traps seem to work really well. We set more in the master bedroom and caught another 8 - one was by my headboard, two were next to shoe trees. 4 were right by my wife's dresser. It's like a horror movie. Needless to say, this whole ordeal has gotten our attention in a big way. I am on a mission to vacuum crevices with a shop vac and then silicone up any hiding places. We are throwing away a ton of stuff and sorting a number of boxes we carried for years. I didn't realize I was in the Brown Recluse belt (or even what they looked like) - but now I have learned what a problem they are in my part of the country. Sadly - no more peacefully co-existing with spiders as I was taught as a youngster.

Good for roaches, but not really a useful tool in getting rid of bedbugs. It didn't help one way or another. It is a PASSIVE trap - not an ACTIVE trap. You can make an ACTIVE trap cheaper than it costs to buy these traps.

Here's what we did to get rid of our bedbugs...

1. Strip bed and wash sheets/blanket/bedspread
2. Cover the mattress and box spring with these Blockade covers
3. Wash entire bed-frame (we steamed the bed-frame and then drenched it with isopropyl alcohol)
4. Set the bed away from the wall a few inches so that it is an island
5. Sprinkle a generous layer of diatomaceous earth around all legs of bed (and around all corners of room, in nooks and crevices).

That gets the parasites off the bed temporarily.

6. Set HOME MADE dry-ice bedbug traps on both sides of the bed, and in the closet. We kept these traps going for about a month. After 15 days, we topped seeing any bedbugs in the traps. I used a version of the trap similar to this [Amazon doesn't allow links -- so go to you tube and search for video 5JZx3GrQCE0]

7. It's been THREE MONTHS and NO BEDBUGS!

As soon as I received this I wanted to lay them out everywhere to catch the random spiders I've been seeing here and there. What I noticed is that you think you're paying for 90 traps like the description says but you really get 30 sheets of traps with two serrations in them. You tear each sheet into three pieces. The HUGE problem with this is the glue goes from about .7cm in from the ends but across the entire sheet. When you tear one trap off you get a sticky edge so if you laid it down on the floor that adhesive WILL stick to your floor and leave a residue if you don't block it with say a piece of paper. The middle trap has two sides with adhesive along the edges so you'll need more paper to block them from sticking to your floor.
The other disadvantage I've found is when you fold them they create a triangle so if you push them up against a baseboard a bug would just as easily walk over the corner against the wall than inside it. I would think the rectangular traps would divert a bug inside much easier. However, despite this they've caught an ant so far. I didn't know I had ants in the house! Time to buy more traps.

Update (5/15/2013): The glue works very well. In fact almost all the spiders and various other bugs they've caught were only within a cm of the glue and only the bigger spiders got in even an inch. The downside is because of that triangular shape and the viewing holes cut above them I've found if my dog steps on one her feet hit straight down to the glue. The rectangular ones just kind of collapse onto itself so her feet don't get stuck. Just something to think about.

Update (5/22/2013): I've purchased a more rectangular type from Catchmaster as well and laid them out.

they work really well, you just have to make sure you put them in the right places. I wish they only stuck to bugs. The stick to everything and they stick very well

Nice product, well designed. Does a good job. Catches spiders and other insects. Can be separated into two or three sections and has a peel off adhesive back making it useful as a pantry moth trap. I will keep buying this one as needed.
