5.0 out of 5 stars I love Trash!!!, December 12, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Trash Box (Audio CD)
A very filthy Muppet named Oscar the Grouch once sang about loving Trash. You will not hear that song in this boxed set. One afternoon about 25 years ago, in the age of disco, I sat in my room listening to a college radio station. The DJ was playing 60's garage rock. I have been a fan of the genre ever since. Over the past 25 years, I have purchased many albums by the bands I heard that day. Most were impossible to find until they were released on CD. With the purchase of this boxed set, my quest is complete, and I can now make a quality cassette (or burn a CD) of the songs I heard that day and get rid of the one I taped by holding a microphone up to the radio speaker. Sure, many people have heard "Dirty Water" by the Standells (not in this set), but I have spent years trying to find a copy of "Yesterday's Hero" by the Satyrs, "Feathered Fish" by the Sons of Adam, and the Electic Prunes' "Vox Wah Wah Ad." Maybe these songs weren't considered good enough to be chosen for Rhino's Nuggets boxed sets, but for the fan of this genre, they're a must.
