Great EP...,

Children Of Bodom releases their new brand EP "Trashed, Lost & Strungout", with two new COB songs, the usual covers, two in this case, and a video.
The two COB songs somehow continue with what was left in "Hatecrew dethroll", COB's previous effort. Both very powerful and catchy, in which you can notice that Alexi Laiho tried to take his songwriting one level higher. The two covers, Bed of Nails, and She is Beautiful. Two great covers, that capture the vibe of the original versions, especially "She is beautiful", that is probably one of best covers ever recorded by COB, very festive and funny, and showing the band's sense of humour. Anyway, if you're a Bodom fan, you should buy this EP!

Trashed, Lost and Strung Out,

It has the COB feel to it but definately not one of their best. The video clip of them wandering around drunk is pretty amuzing though especially if you've had a few yourself :) Overall if you're a true Children of Bodom fan you might be slightly disappointed although they still have talent.

At first I was a little hesitant aout shelling out 8 bucks for a cd with only 4 songs on it, but lemme tell you these songs are great. Trashed, Lost, and Strungout starts out with a killer guitar intro and then turns into a breackneck fast song. Knuckleduster is my favorite song on here, it's just got everything a great song needs. Bed of Nails was an interesting choice for a cover but its good none the less, and finally we have She Is Beautiful by Andrew W.K., this shows the more upbeat side of C.O.B. and they did the song great. The extra stuff is nothing great, the video for TLaSO is good and the 20 minute documentary of the band is very funny at parts (when Alexi sprays himself in the eye). All in all this is definately a must have for any C.O.B. fan but it's also a great starting place for someone who hasn't heard any of their other stuff.

children of bodom have done it again. although there where only 2 new songs, it was as good as a whole album.
trashed lost & strungout- shows off alexi laiho's amazing guitar skills. the solo was evident of laihos steve vai obscetion. knuckleduster- another great song. drumming was very good. solo wasnt as good as the one in tlso, but it was still excellent. laihos voice rang like a church bell in this song. bed of nails(alice cooper cover)- this cover was very good not as good as the original but cob's interpretation kept this classic alive. she is beautiful(andrew wk cover)-in my opinion alexi laihos voice doesnt really fit the nature of this song. but it made it sound heavier.

Trashed, Lost and Strung Out is a neat little EP that served to whet fans' appetites for Children of Bodom's 2005 album Are You Dead Yet?. In addition to the title track, which was the first single from the album (something about thinking of any COB song as a single in the US strikes me funny), there is the exclusive studio track Knuckleduster. Both songs are representative of the Are You Dead Yet album, which is to say they both rock like the proverbial hurricane.
What's exclusive to this EP, and what makes it worthwhile long after the full album was released, is the presence of two cover songs. The first cover is of the Alice Cooper song Bed of Nails. The second is of Andrew W.K.'s She is Beautiful. These oddball covers help illustrate why Children of Bodom is so often imitated, but is never really duplicated. They can cover two very different songs from two very different eras, neither of which is really a metal song, and give them that signature COB style. Plus, their obvious appreciation for a wide array of music has helped them to essentially create a whole new style of extreme metal. The EP also includes the video for the title track as well as some other multimedia content. Given the low price, this EP is a good purchase for all serious Children of Bodom fans.

Alexi does the best job of guitar solos with high distortion that I've ever heard! The song Lost, Trashed, and Strungout is my favorite, and the CD is definately a must for me, and any other COB fan! 5 stars (6 in my book but amazon.com won't let me)!

LOST TRASHED AND STRUNGOUT!!! i had fun with this song...this song is amazing...right now it is my favorite song (beside silent night bodom night) the other songs were ok...cuz i do like that cooper cover...but this song....its unexplainable...its soooo good....since the first time i heard this song i was bangin my head like their was no tommorow...i admit i didnt like it from the begining cuz they had gotten alot harder and less melodic but as the song progressed i fell in love wiht it! go buy this album...if u are COB fan...you wont be disappointed! ~peace~

Harbinger Of Things To Come,
This review is from: Trashed Lost & Strung Out (Audio CD)
This EP introduced the band's more current modern sound as they have come to embrace even to this day. The title track of the EP stands as among the best songs this band has ever conceived, it is a catchy escapade into dirty de-tuned riffing and smooth melodies. "Knuckleduster" is a really simple stop start riff that would have probably been the second best song had they also included it on "Are You Dead Yet" along with "Trashed, Lost & Strungout". "She Is Beautiful" is a bad cover, but then again this band is known for their often horrid interpretations of already established songs. The cover of Alice Cooper's "Bed of Nails" isn't really all that much better. I think the band was pretty energized by their change of direction and heavier approach on the two originals, it's a shame the enthusiasm on here didn't really continue onto "Are You Dead Yet?".
