I happened to see him on TV in Spain 2 years ago and at the first listening I loved his songs although I knew nothing about him then. You can't believe he is so young if you listen to his songs because they are so mature and profound. You will be encouraged and consoled by his lyrics (if you understand Spanish). You will find his voice is so sweet! I love his songs so much! Try Luna nueva,too!

This CD is a guilty pleasure for me-
From 1994, the title song is catchy and got stuck in my head for years. It's cheezy but I still like it. Other highpoints of the CD inlcude a Spanish Cover of "Walking on Sunshine." "Todo Cambia" and "Secretos de Mar" are pretty, slower music, "Deja de Pedir Pardon" is reggae-ish. This CD is a good example of non-cumbia sounding spanish music. If you like Pop give it a listen- it's also great for students learning Spanish, since Diego's enunciation is clear and always heard above the music. |
