The best Medical Simulation game out there.,
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Trauma Center: New Blood (Video Game)
I am a huge Trauma Center fan. I have played Trauma center: Second opinion and loved it! When I heard that Atlus was developing a sequel, I had to buy it as soon as they released it! This game was not a disappointmentat all. The first time I played it, I couldn't believe how much better it was than Second Opinion! It was astounding! Here's a brief overview of the game.
OVERVIEW: This game takes place 10 years after the events that occured in Trauma Center: Second Opinion, which took place in the year 2018, when medical terrorists were using a virus called GUILT (Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin)to terrorize people all over the world. And a doctor named Derek Stiles, who was gifted with the Healing Touch, had to stop the Virus and cure its victims. Now, in New Blood,10 years later in 2028, there is an even greater threat at hand. Its name is Stigma. It is a very deadly pathogen that was discovered and released into the public by accident. Now, two very talented Alaskan surgeons (named Markus Vaugn and Valerie Blaylock) with the Healing Touch must stop Stigma and save people's lives before they become victims of Stigma Themselves. The tension is on as they preform life- saving operations, in hopes that they can accomplish their mission. PROS AND CONS PROS: This game has really good graphics. A lot better that Trauma Center: Second Opinion. You actually feel like you are operating on someone. The graphics are so lifelike, and there is also the classic Japanese anime- style art involved too. Awesome gameplay and storyline: This game has a truly gripping storyline that will keep you coming back for more! I could not stop playing it because there was drama and danger around every twist and turn. Full voice-over Dialogue: In the first installment of Trauma Center for the Wii, Only a few parts of what the doctors and nurses were saying were actually said aloud, the rest you had to read, But now they have actors saying everything that is written on the screen. Controlls and rumble feature of the Wii remote and nunchuck: The Wii remote has a built in rumble feature, that allows you to really feel the action as you are preforming operations. The nunchuck allows you to select the surgical tools that are necessary for you to successfully complete every operation. The Wii remote serves as your scalpel, Syringe, suturing tool, and ultrasound among other things. You also use thi remote and nunchuck as the defibrillators. Co-op mode: Now you can play with a family member or friend to help you to accomplish those tricky and difficult operations that you just can't do on your own. You can do operations twice as fast with one other person to help you to finish the operation successfully. CONS: A lot of the operations are very hard to complete, even when playing on the Easy setting! But this game is very fun nonetheless. I would defnitely reccomend this game to anyone who dreams, or has drempt, of becoming a doctor. Before I played this game, I didn't handle the virtual pressure well, and I was really shaky when I held the Wii remote, Now i am not shaky at all! It really makes you hold your hand steady like a real surgeon would have to. This is a really grat game that will shock and suprise you constantly to the point to where you are screaming at the television and virtual characters and in denial at what is happening in the storyline. I hope that my review has helped you!

This is one of the first games I've purchased for the Wii, and I'm really happy I got it. It certainly is a game that is best suited with the Wii's unique controls, and it probably wouldn't be as much fun anywhere else.
The heart of the game is the operating, which can be exciting, stressful, tense, and frustrating all the same time. But it's quite a rush when you've got a time limit and some bleeding patient who needs you to hurry up. :) Controls seem to be spot on and are a lot of fun to interact with each patient. I especially like using the defibrillator. While the game can be slightly difficult, I don't mind replaying levels that I've failed. The only downside I'm seeing so far, are the extremely lengthy cut scenes in between game play. The acting for the stories are very good, but there's just so much of it! Other than that, the game is unique and fun enough to own. Overall - 4 Stars Control - 4 Stars Graphics - 3 1/2 Stars Sound - 4 1/2 Stars Fun - 5 Stars

I haven't had a chance to play through the whole game yet, but from what I have played it feels just like Trauma Center: Second Opinion, with a new story and new operations. Multiplayer in this version is done in a Co-op manor, with both players working together on the same surgery. There isn't much more I can say at this point about the game besides its fun to play single player or multiplayer. I would recommend this game to anyone who was a fan of the first game or looking for any new game to buy.

Fun Game but very similar to Second Opinion,

The new story line and new characters are refreshing, but the operating tools and the operations are basically the same as Second Opinion. There is a tutorial prior to the operations which is helpful that I wish was present in Second Opinion. The healing touch star has returned which is frustrating to me because I am just not good at drawing a star. I am still having fun with this game but just don't expect anything too much different than Second Opinion. I have only gone through level 1-6 so maybe there will be some nice surprises.

this game is crazy hard. Good thing there is co-op mode which makes it easier. It took me and my friend a looooooooooooooong time to beat the game. Every mission can be played with two players, except the training. I have no idea how to beat this game single player. The game is so much fun, and the art work is nice too. But i warn u, it takes like 10+ or sometimes 20+ to succeed in an operation. Meaning u would kill the patient like 20 times before actually saving him, it is that hard (i play in normal though). However this game is super fun!!!! i haven't tried the online thing but i don't think it is fun. i hope they make a next installment where 4 players can play having people wipe your sweat during the operation of something.

This game just seems naturally suited for the Wii. Although it is very similar to the first game in the series, the addition of a two person surgery really spices things up.
Gameplay can be frustrating for those lacking in hand-eye coordination, but the varying levels of difficulty are accomodating. Overall a very enjoyable game that highlights the ingenuity of the wii remote.

The game keeps me interested until I get stuck at a part that is too difficult. Easy mode is not as easy as some may think. Even after I got used to the game, I still ran into parts that had to be repeated multiple times to actually get the jist of the level, on easy mode. The graphics are okay. The acting parts in between levels are a bit on the long side. If you are a person who likes a challenging game, this is not a bad start. That's all I really have to say.

This is a fun game. It is difficult. Better play in co-op mode with a partner.

My wife and I are not serious gamers, but we have really enjoyed this game. Certainly there is a lot one could critique such as the graphics not being stellar, the unrealistic medical scenarios, and bizarre story line that occurs between surgeries, but overall it is a fun game. We particularly enjoy being able to work together during the operations as a surgical team.
It is true that it usually takes multiple attempts to figure out and be able to pass any given level, but the challenge of it is part of the fun. There are some levels where I just dont see how it would be possible to pass them without two people. In any case, its a pretty fun game and certainly is not gory by any means. Furthermore, being knowledgeable in medicine or having real life surgical experience does NOT give you any advantage in the game. I think just about anybody could play this game and get good at it as long as you have reasonably good hand eye coordination.

I typically enjoy more of the first-person shooter types of video games, so I was very skeptical about playing this for the first time with my girlfriend. Honestly, it's a fun two-person game. I was pleasantly surprised.
