A Gem of a book about C H Spurgeon - London, Revivalists 1850s, September 9, 2009
This review is from: Travel with CH Spurgeon: In the Footsteps of the Prince of Preachers (Paperback)
Travel with C.H.Spurgeon: Exploring the World of C.H.Spurgeon (Travel with CH Spurgeon) by Clive Anderson. One of many reviews from the Travel With series.
This is a great pocket-sized book to slip into your jeans about C H Spurgeon. The book is a small biography, mixed with around 150 photos and pictures of the places and people conected with this famed London preacher.
Easy to read and concise, including maps, telphone snumbers and other interesting info, who to contact, who not to disturb as many of the places connected to Spurgeon still exists though some is in private hands.
Includes places of his conversion, baptism, first place he preached at etc. and in London the book even lists the bus routes to the various places.
A real gem of a book and a good investment, even if you don't travel in the footsteps of Spurgeon, you can stay and home and read all about it with all the great photos. Well researched.
If you like revivals and revivalist then the following (with lots of British revivals as well as from across the globe) will also be a blessing to you
