Editorial Reviews

Review

... How can a business traveler keep safe while on the road? This book tries to answer that question, and for the most part, it does so in fine fashion. International terrorism, plane hijackings, hostage situations, and street crime have made the security executive an important resource for the peripatetic business person. This pocket-size resource provides an easy, convenient way of informing the corporate road warrior of the dangers that exist, how to avoid them, and how to escape them. ... -- Security Management magazine, September, 1998

... a practical, easy-to-follow guide to on-the-road safety. Written by psychologist Terry Riley, the paperback offers more than 600 useful and thought-provoking tips. ... -- The Tactical Traveler on BizTravel.com, June 8, 1998

From the Publisher

Now in its third edition, with more than 200 pages and over 700 tips, this guide remains the most comprehensive and most valuable book on business travel security. In short, the information in this book could save your life. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the very first travel specific risk management contributions, April 23, 2010
One of the very first travel specific risk management contributions. Loads of "what ifs" and scenario styled content but format and the overload of information will be lost on your average traveler or executive. Risk managers or security professionals will benefit if not for a refresher on the end-to-end demands of mitigating travel threats, then to educate more specifically what types of scenarios will be faced by your average traveling executive.

707 total tips!

Great reference material or training development tool but not for everyone.

Unless your a travel security professional, your time would be better spent with an afternoon chatting to someone who is and incrementally applying some of the lessons and principles in your everyday travel habits.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just a Mash Up From Other Sources, January 28, 2010

(REAL NAME)
If you have never been out of Greenbow, Alabama in your entire life, this book is just the thing for you! If you have the least bit of research capability or can spell Google, you can find every idea in this book someplace else for free. It is a collection of utterly obvious ideas and offers nothing novel. Some of the suggestions are flat wrong and otherwise risky. Example: leave your passport in the hotel safe. Bad idea. Quite a few countries require foreigners to keep their passport on their person at all times. If you are going to travel internationally to a new country, do yourself a favor and do the research the old fashioned way.

Leave this book for Mr. Gump.
