Keep doing what you do FoF!,
By Justin Yee (Berkeley, California United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Travel III (Audio CD)
Another great EP from a great group of musicians! I'm always amazed at the complexity and unity in all their music. Travel 3 has a less pop, more bass feel to it compared to the other Travel EPs. I try to drum along on my steering wheel while jamming to FoF in my car, but the complex beats throw me off sometimes. At least I can sing along loudly, "Did you lose yourself!?". Not only is the sound a step above current radio buzz, but the lyrics actually make you think too! Another great job by the FoF team! AND, if you can see them live, DO IT because it will show you even more of how much multi-faceted talent, skill, and composition goes into their music!

Saved Best for Last,
By Coriolanus "jesse d." (Mechanicsburg, PA USA) - See all my reviews

Alas, the end has come for the Travel trilogy, and despite what some say, it is a proper closer. Travel II, I think, was just such a different turn for FOF that caught so many people's attention, that everyone's craving more "Slow Your Breath Down" and "Holiday". Travel III does what its predecessor did = take a very different musical turn. The rock is still there, the strings are there, but we are not on a pirate ship this time, and it works wonderfully! What will stand out the most, probably, is "Did You Lose Yourself?", which definitely is a main contender for best song not just of the EP, but of the entire trilogy.

What is up with the bass?,

This review is from: Travel III (Audio CD)
I agree with an earlier reviewer - why is the bass cranked up so high? When a song pops up from this album in my car mp3 mix it about blows out my speakers. It's a shame because every song is amazing, like Horizon Rainfall (reminds me of A-ha) and Your Day's Not Over (Radiohead'ish).
