Just used this adapter on a 2 week trip through the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain. The adapter worked in all the countries without any problems and the USB port was very nice for charging the kids MP3 and game players while I was using the main plug to charge the camera. We used two adapters on the trip, this one by Conair and another one we picked up at Target for about 75% less but without the USB port. By the end of the trip, this one was always being used while the other one was only dug out when we needed more power. Three things to note about this adapter: 1) It has a very bright blue LED light that illuminates when the USB port has power - this proved to be very distracting at night when trying to sleep and we were hesitant to cover it since the adapter did get warm when in use. 2) The adapter is made out of hard plastic - the type that cracks and breaks rather than bend/deform. We didn't have any problems but I did take extra care to ensure that it was in a safe place in the suitcase where it wouldn't get banged around a lot. 3) The adapter is NOT a voltage converter - we only used dual voltage items on the trip and that is what I would recommend to anyone traveling anyway. Full list of country compatibility from the label: Africa, Asia, Australia, Caribbean, Europe, Fiji, Great Britain, Ireland, Middle East, New Zealand, North America, South America.

The first one worked fine for a year. After some months, using it about 1 weekend per month, I saw smoke come from the USB port, probably caused by the USB plug being not exactly perpendicular. It shouldn't be so loose. But if I'm careful, it still worked, so I was satisfied. However, on a touchscreen phone, the touchscreen is unresponsive while plugged in to this Conair. I don't have the same phenomenon when it's in other 120v-to-USB chargers. This can be caused by noise, undervoltage, or overvoltage.Ordered a placement Conair converter. After about 20 minutes of use, the bright purple light flashes intermittently, making it impossible to sleep. Can't cover it up because the light leaks out the holes and surface. Though the reasons differ, 2 out of 2 fail so I must write a bad review, sorry.

got this in the mail today... paid a little extra since I assumed it came with the converter that is pictured, yet it's only an adapter. Going back over the page, I still don't see where it says "converter sold separately" or anything else to indicate that you aren't getting a converter. thanks a lot amazon.
