5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy The Ride
Even readers who have never traveled by RV will find this book engrossing, highly entertaining , informative and hilarious. It is a wonderful mix of humor and great facts about places to visit in the U.S. I felt like I was there traveling with the author and his wife--and loving every minute of it. 2.0 out of 5 stars not what I expected
I must say this was a disappointment from what I expected from reading the intro. Not bad for a .99 book but certainly not worth the 9.59 price.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOL fun!, June 11, 2007
This review is from: Travel Tales...: An Old Retiree, His RV, His Dog, and His Woman (Not Necessarily in Order of Preference) Hit the Road (Paperback)
A wonderful book! I was not in the trailer with this couple...but I felt like I was. Frequently, on the trip (my trip with them when I was reading) I had to stop and laugh...a big belly laugh. The way Hollarn wrote the book was so greatly enjoyable. Thanks for a wonderful read and a fun, fun adventure.

This is a humorous insight into the RV lifestyle - I loved it! Anyone who longs to know a bit about what it is like to be an RV vagabond will get that insight in this short and engaging read. Actually, anyone who is already an RV vagabond will find Ken's blog style writing will bring back memories of similar adventures we have all had. I would strongly recommend this book!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, December 24, 2009

Boring. I bought this book thinking it would be an entertaining companion to our motorhome travels. Not so. It is written diary style, but with little depth of character development. A few interesting facts about highways, camping places, but if you are looking for a story, find another book.

We had a hard winter last year here in Maryland, with more snow that we want to see again (unless there is someone else around to shovel for us). We are retired and dream of better weather, so every morning after breakfast, we would read one chapter aloud of this true and humorous story. We would pretend that we were on the trip with Ken driving and "the woman" cooking for us as we enjoyed the sights that Ken described and imagined the warm weather that they were driving through. Ken's folksy humor about the obstacles he and the woman encountered made us laugh and gave us a different perspective on the obstacles that we encountered during our days. We would love to read more of this type of book, and wish for a sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Entertaining Read, April 26, 2010
As a Christmas gift this book was a highlight this year. My wife and I both had to laugh out loud frequently and at times she had to put it down because she was crying it was so funny. We recently bought our first RV and really enjoyed hearing about someone else's experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, easy read!, August 16, 2008

Boy, reviewer Fletch must not have a funny bone in his body! This book is an easy, FUN, read! And a must have for all RV'ers! Look at all the fun these two travelers have had in their RV with their faithful pup. Oh, you have to buy the book first to have a "look". Well worth the asking price. Get yourself a copy today. And I do agree with Fletch's comment that Halloran has a great personality! It's easy to get to know the author through his writing.
