Relatively light, strong, well made.

I would have kept them but they are very uncomfortable - the seat back digs into your back.

After trying out the many zigzaggy-leg sling/camp chairs so prevalent in every sporting goods store, and not finding anything more comfortable than the ones we had like them in the garage, I found the Larry Chair!

I wanted a sturdy-feeling seat--NOT a sling-like seat that makes you sit all hunchy, being able to eat/balance a plate while sitting in it, lightweight, folds down small, and is comfy. Larry Chair fits the bill. I thought the beach-chair-height would feel too low, but it is just right without feeling like you might as well sit on the ground. It also goes great with a small portable side table we already had.

The folding parts are easy to use without pinching fingers in the pieces that snap the seat open and closed; just a gentle push and it is very manageable. We found it easier to keep the back folded down while opening and securing the "legs". When the back was open the chair went slightly wonky--you'll understand if you try to open the legs with the back extended.

And it even comes with a nice bag, about the size of a soft briefcase, to store it in. Bag has a handle and an adjustable strap. And how often can you call your chair by a name?!

At first I thought it was a little expensive for a low portable chair, but we have gone through so many of the cheap camp chairs--torn out grommets, rivets broken, fabric fraying, the lame arm rests, cup holders on a slant--who the heck wants to buy more cheapo ones of those when a couple of these is all we need.

Great chair, I called the company because my needs were specific, lightweight and storing on a boat. They were so helpful and suggested the travelchair. I was a little apprehensive because there were no arms and we mostly use on the beach. It worked for us, comes in a bag for storage and convenient to carry. I will definitely buy more.

These chairs advertised as one pound shipping weight but they weigh far more than a pound. We needed them for a kayaking trip but they do not fit the bill. I would have kept them but they are very uncomfortable - the seat back digs into your back.

bought this chair since i have to do some maintenance in several plants and have to be standing up all day checking instruments. This is sturdy and seems its going to be very durable. the pouch is nothing like the picture and chair was actually bigger than i was expecting, i guess i should've looked at the dimensions but overall great buy

I had been looking for a beach chair that could fit into my carry-on luggage. I am on the top side of near 200 pounds and this chair that fit great into my 21" luggage was easy to use and worked great on the beach. This is way better than some lousy tripod or hammock-style chair sold for similar compact reasons.

I recently purchased the Larry chair, and the picture of it folded out and in its case is not proportional. The chair in its case is much bigger and the backrest is a little far forward. Otherwise a nice little chair.

I already have one of these and just bought a second one. This chair folds up small in a case for carrying. The chair is very stable and built sturdy and the back is comfortable and upright rather than slouchy. I use it for meditation since I can't sit on a zafu. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is that it is heavier than I expected. The other one of these I bought at REI is aluminum and lighter while this one is metal and a bit heavier for lugging around but still very portable.

I have a Loon 138 which an old model no longer made. Large cockpit with no bulkheads. Basically it's sort of a half-covered canoe. So it can haul lots of stuff if you can fit it inside the front or back. I can fit other folding chairs in there but they take up WAY more space than this one so I have to leave other gear behind. This chair fits in there pretty good.

And it's good in sand. My camping trips are on the lower Wisconsin River. No rocks, all sand. Everywhere. This chair has pipes for the base so it doesn't sink like most of the other folding chairs with the little bitty feet.

It's a bit small for me. The two bars on the backrest sort of dig into the sides of my back a little. Otherwise it's dry and comfortable and just the right height for tending and cooking on the campfire. And LOTS better than the ground.

After one summer and fall on the river, the backrest fabric got a hole torn over one of the back bars. I called the company and they shipped me a new one. I can't remember if I paid for it or not. But it works fine.

Yes, it will often "rack" a little. That is, it'll go out of square, all the angles will be a little twitched one way or the other. Doesn't seem to compromise the strength of it, and it straightens right out again. I rinse the sand out of joints in the river before I fold it back up.

So, it's not perfect but four stars because it fits well in the boat and has taken quite a bit of abuse. After two full years it still keeps my butt off the wet sand and is nice for kicking my feet out and leaning back for a good view of the stars at night with a flask in my hand.
