Product Description

Amazon.com

Don't underestimate the Slacker Chair--with only three little legs, it holds up to 275 pounds. The Slacker is as tiny as it is tough. When closed and secured with its integral Velcro strap, it's no bigger than a rolled-up newspaper. Designed to provide portable seating with minimum weight and maximum portability, the Slacker Chair is at home everywhere from kayak expeditions to church picnics. Like all TravelChairs, it feature high-quality, thickwalled frame tubing, abrasion- and fade-resistant materials, and sturdy connection systems that won't flex, sway, or wobble.

Specifications:

  • Dimensions Open: 12 by 14 by 20 inches
  • Dimensions Closed: 3 by 3 by 24 inches
  • Seat Height: 17.5 inches
  • Weight: 1.9 pounds
  • Weight Capacity: 275 pounds

Travelchair Features

  • Webbing
Seat belt webbing is good enough to save your life and it is good enough to reinforce our chairs. Travelchair goes beyond the industry standard to use the toughest webbing in the business.

  • Feet
Feet hold the chair together and keep you out of the dirt. Travelchair feet are designed, like our molded grommets, to be at peace when loaded. The nylon insures that the feet in your chair will be flexible and strong.

  • Grommets
Travelchair molds grommets to conform to optimal angles when the chair is loaded. High strength nylon and double stitching means no compromise in durability.

  • Rivets
Not all rivets are the same--Travelchair rivets are oversized to maintain frame integrity. Instead of drilling a large hole to drop the rivet into and then mashing down the ends for a tight fit, Travelchair drills to exacting tolerances, which means more manufacturing time spent creating products, and much longer product life.

  • Frames
Travelchair steels and aluminums are a grade higher than what is on the market and a tick or two thicker than the average chair, resulting in stronger, longer lasting frames.

  • Fabric
The common thread throughout the Travelchair line is that each fabric is the ultimate in durability for its intended use. Take the 600 denier nylon, for example. Travelchair uses a double layer instead of a single layer like discounted store chairs. The ballistic nylon and polyester meshes have been put through rigorous product testing in the Desert Southwest, in Chilean Patagonia, and in the Travelchair warehouse in Gig Harbor, Washington.

  • Details
Travelchair finishes products with details such as bar tacking, doubling of fabrics, and reinforcement fabrics made of seat belt material because they believe the bottom line is superior design.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slacker Tripod Stool, August 9, 2009

I have used this particular stool for more than a year now. As an adult scouter with a local boy scout troop I use the slacker on our monthly campouts. Our troop continues with the scout tradition of cooking over the campfire and in this context the stool is great. It provides support when you are working with dutch ovens and skillets on a fire grill. I took the stool with us on a recent Boundary Waters canoe trip and it was used extensively on that trip. So far the stool has held up very well, no damage noted anywhere. At 6'0 and 220 lbs I wouldn't use it to lounge next to a campfire but for utility purposes it is excellent. In my opinion it is too heavy to backpack but for general camping an asset.

5.0 out of 5 stars portable seat, October 24, 2008
By
This review is from: Travelchair Slacker Chair (Sports)
We went to DisneyWorld, and as someone who recently had an operation and couldn't stand for a long time but didn't need a wheelchair, this was perfect! It was the perfect fit, lightweight, very portable and easy to carry, and came in very handy for watching parades and waiting in lines. My only complaint - it was slightly tippy if you didn't get it just right the first time.

4.0 out of 5 stars portable comfort, August 26, 2009

If you are like me a person who likes to fish and walk streams or watch field sports, this stool is a winner.
The stool is light weight and carries easly over your shoulder leaveing both hands free.
It is comfortable to sit on and sturdy. I weigh over two hundred and fifty pounds and it is nice to know the stool isn't going to bend or suddenly give way under you.
If it has one drawback it is that the seat area is a little small but not uncomfortably so. I have sat around campfires several hours with friends and been quite happy with the product.
I would buy it again and have recommended it to many people.
