5.0 out of 5 stars Yoga for Astronomers! February 20, 2011
By Orion
Format:Kindle Edition
As an astronomer, I travel a lot and usually after staying up all night observing. This book has been such a help. I don't usually do yoga, but my girlfriend does and gave this to me as a gift. The poses are very accessible and really do make layovers and long haul flights more bearable. I'd recommend this to anyone who travels or just needs a clear guide to yoga poses. This was a great present.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Planes, Trains, Automobiles, and the Livingroom February 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I have been looking for this book my whole life. Every airplane should have it on those back-of-the-seat screens. The illustrations of poses are extremely elegant and clear, and the instructions succinct enough for someone wrestling with turbulence or jetlag. I love how the authors have kept in mind people's different bodies and suggest modifications of poses based on individual ability. My hamstrings are super tight, so I used to think yoga would not be for me, but Jill Johnson and Diana Shannon make very clear that yoga is for anyone interested in being more in touch with body and self. This is by far the best yoga book I have come across. It is wonderful as a travel buddy but equally valuable as a home buddy where it can help prepare for and recover from traveling through a regular day.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to eliminate health issues while traveling December 9, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
I was fortunate to have read this book before publication and must say that I enjoyed it very much. I often use it for references for my classes, and love the clear simple instructions to achieve good alignment. I am at risk for clots so I feel the information is extremely beneficial for anyone traveling by plane, car, or any method that restricts movement. The postures after travel are something I had not considered in the past but will be included in my next travel plans, before, during, as much as possible, and after. Thank you for a lovely manual, Jill and Diana Also, thank you very much for the privilege of reading your manual before publication.
