This is a great collection for anyone visiting Mexico who prefers being a traveler (eating authentic foods, making friends with locals, visiting non-touristy places off the beaten tracks)rather than just a tourist. Although some of the tales are set in very touristy places, the themes, descriptions, and events are all individual stories with great details. A wonderful group of tales for vicariously visiting the Yucatan, the central highlands -- Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende -- Guadalajara, Oaxaca, the great Copper Canyon, Mexico City, etc. For people who already love Mexico, as well as for those who are considering a visit.

I love the stories in the book - they cover more than just the tourist areas and the entire country is included. After reading so many great sotries, I want to travel around Mexico for a living and write!

I am becoming very intoxicated with mexico. I seem to be booking tickets to various places around mexico every chance I get. The stories in this book are amazing. Very well written and fascinating. I reccomend it highly for anyone interested in anything Mexican!!!!!
